Weather like this sends me into a "work frenzy". So, I had a tiny strip of land full of sumac, multi-flora rose, wild grape vine, wild berry bushes and other assorted crap in a 120' long by 20' wide nasty jungle between my Austrian Spruce plantation and the woods at the base of the hill. It sure looks a lot different now. After weeks of snipping and nipping and sawing and stump pulling and ripping up vines and rototilling and raking, etc., it's getting close to being done. I just put the grass seed down, and getting the area ready for some elderberry bushes and another row of black raspberries to be planted next week. I have huge brush piles to burn next winter.

I scouted early Sat. then cleaned my daughters motorcycle. I need to try and sell it as she lives in Baltimore and hasn't had it out for the last 2 years. Sunday my wife and I rode out motorcycles to Sampson State Park to check out the campgrounds. We have a family reunion this August and needed to find a campsite large enough for extra tents. Stopped at Charlies in Canandaigua for a white hot. Nice day for a ride!

We went for a 2.5 mile walk Saturday morning, then worked around her house with the lawn, planting some bushes, etc. then out for dinner. Sunday morning walked another 2.5 miles, then took out the bikes to Ellicott Creek Bike path, did an 11 mile trip there, stopped at Hoak's on the way back for a couple of beers and a Roast Beef on wick. Then crashed at my place till 6pm.

Debated working at Suffolk Archers but it was to nice out for work!  Headed out to Peconic River Sportsman's club and did the 3D shoot.  Beat last weeks high score of 281 with a 288 two of my best scores!  Took first place and a T-shirt home instead of a trophy.  Nice club the shoot was short shots for the most part, not many shots past 35 yards.  Next time I will do the longer shots.  One thing is for sure THE TICKS ARE OUT IN FORCE!!!!!!!!!

Saturday, got caught up on the honey do list. And searched out a new, (for me) launch site on the Mohawk, between locks 9 and 10.

Sunday my youngest grandson, had a double header baseball game in Arlington Vermont with his travel team. Very nice day for a ballgame. But the Battenkill was only yards away and I could hear those trout calling to me!

Opened up the cottage, got all the water running, got the dock in, and the boat rail system. All the stuff I generally do the opening weekend of walleye is done. Now I just need to work on our kitchen island everything else is ready for some fish fillets to hit the freezer, except the boat. I guess that is next.

Hey grampy,

RE the Mohawk. Saw a few eagles out that way a few weeks ago on way to Boston. Keep your eyes open out that way.

Saturday I started picking up the garage, somehow it turned into a full cleanup. I emptied all the cabinets and shelves. Threw everything in the middle of the garage. Went back and reorganized everything and threw out tons of crap. I even went as far as wiping down the shelves and vacuuming all the cob webs, then I vacuumed the floor. Sunday I did the same thing to my shed....Now I have such a huge pile of junk I need to make a dump run or wait several weeks while stuffing my garbage full every Wednesday.....Feels good to have it done but I would have like to been playing instead....
