growalot
Cute when they are that small....We don't see turtles here...so we were very surprised when 2 years ago a tiny little painted turtle emerged from out flower bed...all the streams on the property are over a 1/4 mile away and the swamp about 3/4s'...I took it to the head of one stream... Never seen another and have no idea how it got here...Nice find!

Could have been a bird who grabbed it and dropped it the flower bed by accident and then couldn't find it.

grampy
No matter the size, all snappers should receive special recognition!
philoshop
I was pike fishing on Sodus Bay many years ago and eased into an area near Hunter Point. There must have been a turtle 'hatch' going on and the pike were taking them off the surface in a frenzy. I managed to net a few of the little guys and transport them to another part of the bay where they were more likely to survive. One of the weirdest things I've ever seen.

I went back and used some surface-wobbler lures to catch a few of those pike, but I draw the line at baby turtles and ducklings. ;-]
