G-Man
Anyone into restoring classic vehicles? Never thought I would do it.but didn't have heart to take it to scrap yard after I bought it for dump.bed because it ran....but I just put my truck on the road after five years of satisfying work..Before and after pics..not quite finished ..rebuilding the mechanical fuel pump .. Some trim and interior work to go. Not perfect but pretty good I think.....
Core
Looks awesome. Before I read the post and saw the first pic I was going to say don't you dare craigslist buy that thing, 99% of people who think they will restore a vehicle end up giving up. Looks like you weren't one of them, results speak for themselves!

But it ran after sitting for 30 years so didn't want to junk it..was going to be a woods truck..and I got carried away....

grampy
The time and workmanship is clearly evident in this labor of love, restoration! She is beautiful! And this is one, you just don't see very often. Trucks from the 40's and 50's are absolutely the coolest! Cudo's to you G-Man for a job well done! philoshop
Nice job for sure, G-Man! As a side note, I did a fair amount of auto and boat restoration work for a guy in WNY when I had my wood shop. A 1938, or so, Packard with a 'landau' roof was one. The structural assembly of both the roof and the trunk was made of wood! He brought me boxes of rotten fragments and patent drawings and a mostly 'open' budget. It was a lot more difficult than rebuilding rotten Chriscraft windshields, but it was very rewarding when all the curves and angles fit together and looked right.
