I've had (like you I'm sure) tons of similar shots but best of all is the trail cam videos of the deer fogging up the lens of the cam.  Love 'em!!

I imagine the click of the camera is what the deer are attracted to . They look to see what made that noise .

I get these close-ups too, but mine are mainly at night. At that time I'm assuming the red light that comes on when cam is activated is what gets the deer's interest. Or maybe the LED flash...? Some deer are very curious, while others are spooked. In my experience, it's the does &/or younger deer that seem to be more curious.

Deer are curious. I've had deer lick cams quick a bit. Once one starts other deer seem to lick the same cam.

Most of the molds used incorporate fish oil to release the case. Part of the reason bears are attracted to cams so much.

Yaeh , I get quite a few of those the flash reflects off the deer and they are all white ....... Put a sign on the camera that says "keep back 3 feet from the camera"   !

That's one of the differences between a cheap cam and a quality cam. There is no light metering going on with that WGI.
