More buck movement on cams. 2.5 yr old half rack “Baby Face” making his presence known in the community scrapes. (Two different locations) Where abouts in 5R? Huntingcarzy
Down here in seven R we I have seen some bucks making some scrapes but no chasing. I say in a week to 2 the rut will be in full swing. The 4 looks good about when it will start

Knock on wood, it looks like next Saturday is going to be a high of 52 so im thinking its going to get going then.
Rawbird
7J- 10/27-29/17 Bucks traveling separate, adding/reinforcing rubs and using licking branches. Occasional glances in my direction at buck grunts from the grunt tube, but not enough to get their attention to come in. Haven't been seeing the does, that I'm used to seeing.
JRod 8G8H
A doe group I've been seeing on a regular basis about 6 or 7 of them have been getting chased for the past couple days by this buck who i believe is a 3.5 year old 9 or 10 pointer. He's much bigger than the other neighborhood bucks. The younger bucks are responding to my rattling and coming within range but he aint, think there's a hot doe in the group already. 8H

ATbuckhunter
Is the can effective? Ive heard mixed reviews about its useI've tried it but never had luck. Although I've never had luck blind calling any type of deer call Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Northcountryman
Calls and rattling can be overdone these days IMHO; not saying they dont ever work but I think in heavily pressured areas, the deer become wise to the sounds
sethf11
Wednesday is going to be an awesome day to be out there. As for the can it worked for me last year but I missed the buck. One thing I read and it makes perfect sense is that when you rattle use buck in rut scent. Obviously the bucks will approach downwind. They will scent check before coming in. If you use the buck scent they will circle downwind, smell the buck in rut scent and believe there really is a buck out there. I have some of the Conquest buck in rut scent I'm going to use and try tomorrow. Hopefully it works out. Who knows. Maybe one of these two will come check it out. sethf11
Didn't see anything this morning. Tried some rattling with no luck. Scouted around a bit and rubs are popping up. Found a nice rub line. Gonna have to sit on this line very soon. No scrapes yet though. I did make a mock scrape today to see what I can stir up. Just rubs all over. Cameras are picking up some small buck activity during the daytime. Mid next week into the weekend it will be on. Im I'm in 5R.
