I remember when this forum BLEW UP with those exact conditions! Yup, I will be out there! Start out in the hang on from dark till about 930-10 then still hunt a bit. Possibly get back in the tree for the afternoon, arthritis depending...spousal arthritis that is lol. Are you referring to the Great Buck Massacre of 2019? 11/2/19 is a day that will live in infamy

My Dad passed 11/2/2000 so I never miss that day in the woods. This year was possibly my favorite day of hunting ever and I never drew the bow lol

squirrelwhisperer
I always stayed home when it was windy like that thinking they hunker down in the wind because they can't hear anything and/or are spooked by it. After what I saw here that day, I look forward to going and lament all those days given up in the past.
Moho81
After that day and I think it was Biz posting an article on deer movement in the wind I started talking to a bunch of people and doing some reading online and from what I gathered they move in the high winds because of the noise. They rely on the hearing and smell so much that high winds screw with both those sense's and they feel safer moving than they do just bedding down and waiting it out. Of course I am not a deer expert so I may be wrong but that's what I got out of everything.
