Water Rat
That’s frustrating when that happens. But your trap was bedded solid so the bobcat isn’t any wiser. He’ll be back whether it’s tonight or a week from now. Your gonna get him..... I can feel it.

I need to learn how to block the traps better to control where they step.. The good news is that the cat got a free meal ( duck leg) and did not have an unpleasant experience, so hopefully he'll be back and I'll get another chance at him... It rained pretty hard last night, so I re-scented all of my sets..So far no freezing temps to deal with... I need to go shoot a couple more mergansers for bait... I wonder if piling walnut husks or blackberry shoots would force his foot over to the pan.

Dan, What's your pan tension set at? Did you say what traps you are setting? I don't remember seeing that.
Pygmy
# 2 Duke coil springs , Bob...Offset jaws....The traps aren't mine..They are on loan from a buddy who is not trapping this year, because he's too busy chasing pheasants, ducks and deer...I don't know what he set the tension at, but they feel pretty stiff to me.. I put out one more trap today..That is 6 cat specific sets I have...Tomorrow is another day...
