2019 Rut Observations And Activity.

OK, the time of the year all deer hunters look forward to, is going to start to ramp up soon!!!  Whitetail Rut !

Post here, any rutting observations and activity you see while out and about.

It is always very interesting to see and hear, what others are seeing locally, and across the state of New York, with the rutting activity being observed.

I posted this elsewhere, but i saw two bucks sparring in 4j last Thursday 10/3.

Definitely have seen a few nicer bucks in 4b/4j during the cold snap we had.

I saw bucks cruising a field edge and checking doe trails in the morning last Sunday. A buddy observed a big buck in a hay field running off three smaller ones. Seems like the bucks are ready!!

I have found a few rbs and scrapes as well,this is 4F.

Id say that rut i when the does are actually ready, and if you have one near you youre in for a wild ride. One buck may have her locked down but others will be around acting stupid. If you dont have that doe near you its a ghost town

Yes Biz you're right................. 

But for all intentional purposes, I think you know what I'm pointing out.

I found a bunch of rubs and a couple scrapes that were very fresh last Saturday.

First rubs and scrapes popped up last weekend in the usual spots at the lease in 7m.

I think this is the "Fake Rut". Saw two spikes sparring and one rubbing on a tree the past 10 days on cams (this is in 4U)....

8G-First rub found...a scrape line from a 5pt freshened all of last weekend.cam been soaking by scrapes.will see what this weekend brings!

The buck that I arrowed was chasing a doe, but not rutting by any means. There was no staining on the hocks. Saw 1 small sapling rub.

I saw 2 banging heads Thursday night.   Definitely a pre or actual rut.

Had a2.5 or 3.5 year old doing some light sparring with a couple 1.5 year olds Friday night just before sundown (9H)

Starting to see scrabs and rubs. Brother has a big buck chasing 2 does on video in 9r. Thinking the boys are ready, just waiting on the ladies again

8G-Found another nice rub today.just as i suspected they r crossing creek and onto neighbors property to bed in the thick chit!got a little sheep trail workin.have a ladder stand there thats beat.hate changing things this time of season but going to replace the one thats there.few scrapes opened up aswell. Spike and maybe 5pt ive been seeing checking the mock scrape,pics suck!

We found a bunch more rubs today, that were not there yesterday! No chasing at all yet. But the boys are certainly preparing for the big dance!

4H in the hill towns outside Albany.

Took a walk with the kids on Sunday. Found a good cluster of rubs and scrapes in the Oak flat we scouted.  (4B)

Checking cams this week after soaking for almost a month, will report back then!

I read a NY article talking about 2019 not being like 2017&2018. 

2017 and 2018 had 2-prong chasing- one early around halloween and then late november. 

Whereas, 2019 will be a shorter burst but much more noticeable activity. It mentioned 11/12 and how the gun season is only 4 days from that on 11/16.
