Maryland sika deer

Has anyone here hunted wild Sika on the Eastern shore?

If so, did you do it DIY or guided?

Looking into going next year with my son. Rates seem pretty affordable at $250 a day for a guided bowhunt.

Your trolling has been old since the beginning of your tenure here on the forum. Ever plan on changing? Also I might add that I like Bill and hope to buy him a beer at one of these meetups soon. Then I may change it to a picture of both of us

Never heard of it and knew about them until a Meat Eater episode. it seemed like a very cool hunt. small deer but delicious.

I have seen them at Assateague, pretty sure they are on the other side of the island also (Chincoteague). I believe there is a drawing you can apply for to hunt them there. Everything I have heard is that they are very spooky creatures, and pretty much have to be baited to get them to come out of the marsh, at least in Maryland. I would love to get a chance to hunt them some time.

I say go for it. I just looked up a few outfitters and the lowest I found was $275 a day. The experience alone is worth the cost.

I flew

In and out of Baltimore twice this week and all I could think about was those deer in the marshes!

we have them down on Long Island....I've seen them a few times here and there and spoke with DEC about the regulations for hunting them, I just never got around to devoting time to it.
