sbuff
Anyone use a 2piece in the 6'6 version . Looking at getting one for general purpose fishing next year.
grampy
I have the one piece version in 7'. It is a very nice combo for general purpose fishing. I use this for fishing soft plastics like Senco's and swim baits.
Otto
Great reel! Especially for the price. I try not to use 2 piece rods, although they are much easier to pack and carry around.
sbuff
For transportation I was thinking 2 piece especially if my kids are with me . I've never owned a two piece so it will be a first . I may go one piece .....
dbHunterNY
i'm not screwing it up i think there's a spinning reel for that same line. my FIL swears by both the rod and reel.
The_Real_TCIII
I love the reel, no play at all. Ive read that if youre going to spend more than $50 on a spinning reel, got to $150. Theres nothing in between. Ill stick with the President

I have dozens of rods. All but one or two are one piece. And they are eight and a half footers for crappie fishing.
Robhuntandfish
Another Vote for one piece. If you can transport it without a problem. Better feel for sure.
BigVal
President is the best spinning reel not only in the price range but it's as good or better than several reels over 100 dollars as well. The rods I'd say give or take. And one piece.

ncountry
I agree a great reel for the $. Not sure on the rod but I've caught 100s of bass with my president and it still works like new..
chrisw
Not to derail but, do yourself a favor, grab a Piscifun Venom or flame reel. You can get them for $30-40. They are ridiculously good reels for the money. I own 4 of them now. I use one on a steelhead spinning rod and one on a salmon casting rod and both work great. They work every bit as good as $100+ reels for sure. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
sbuff
I'm leaning on the 30 size reel over the 35 for all purpose fishing . Should be ordering one this week. Seems most think the 35 is to big and heavy . Super excited, come on spring
The_Real_TCIII
id love to fish a reel like this and see if I could tell the difference from a $100 reel

That back in the day we used to buy a reel with a ball bearing and it was top end and an expensive reel. Now you can buy 5-6 bearing reels at Walmart for $40.

But it would stand up better to abuse over time. Again, that's just a guess. I keep my reel's under $100 and put the extra $ into the rod.
Buckmaster7600
id love to fish a reel like this and see if I could tell the difference from a $100 reel Never used that one but have 5 or 6 shimano stradic FJ reals that were in the 250$ range and they’re my favorite reels. Yes you absolutely can tell a difference between it and a 50$ reel, is it a 200$ difference? I guess that’s up to the individual. johnplav
My favorite fishing rod is the small president on an ultralight st. Croix. That’s landed thousands of fish and a few surprisingly big ones.

Most of my firearms have cost less than that spinning reel !! Of course, most of them were bought prior to 1990, but STILL !!
