Spent a few hours looking for squirrels and sheds saturday. Didnt bring home either   was a good day in the woods. A before dark survey of the fields in the area show bucks still holding. Hunting the Cato Ny area.

First shed of 2020! I’ve had to have walked past this one multiple times last few years.

Quick walk after I had a teacher detention..umm..conference....today to a local spot in 3S. Very little sign which was surprising. Must be on the other side...will be looking there this weekend

I saw two bucks, three antlers yesterday. I got a good video of them grooming each other

My neighbor found one side of one of the bucks I was after this past season this past week. The buck hadn't been spending any time on my property since January 21. I had three bucks still with antlers on my camera last night.

Took a quick walk today. Changed out some batteries and walked some thickets on the edge of the marsh. No sheds for me today, but I did find this Diamondback Terrapin shell. They are endangered in Rhode Island and threatened in Massachusetts. They are also a species of concern in several other coastal states, but I guess they are doing pretty good in New York. I have seen them on 2 other occasions in the past laying eggs in my backyard.

I also found this and wondering if someone could identify the tree species. It can’t be an arrow - this is a no hunting area and it certainly CANT be a crossbow bolt cause those are fully illegal in 3S

Pulled my cams down for the season yesterday and discovered that my #2 most wanted set of antlers has hit the ground. They're buried out there somewhere...

Most of the little guys along with my top up and comer are still packing...
