Hi,

I could use some advise.  One of my employees nudged a car in our parking lot.  Nothing serious but they left tire smudges on the bumper of this Honda.  What can I use to clean this off without ruining the paint?

Thanks in advance!

3M rubbing compounds - they come in different grit/aggression levels. You'll want a medium one followed by a lighter one and then a buffing compound to bring out the shine.

Claybar might be needed too.

All that said...that bumper cover needs some work. And you have alignment issues, might have clips busted underneath because the gap of the cover at the light is much wider than at the wheel well. She's pushed down a bit. Can see it all the way across the bottom of the headlight.

I'm no auto-body mechanic, but I've had a bit of work done to cars I've owned over the years. That's a bit more than smudges. I'm going to take a wild guess and say that's about $1500 worth of new bumper cover, hardware and paint. Looks like it extends to a little of the fender too. A reputable shop would probably paint the whole fender.

Let insurance deal with it correctly.

+1. That car is closer to "totaled" than it is to "tire smudges"

If that's not your vehicle I wouldn't touch it.  Let the owner decide what is to be done . But it looks like an insurance claim for sure.  If you want to handle it out of pocket have them get an estimate then sign off on the amount so they can't come back for more. Def more damage than just buffing it out.
