yeah i am up there actually think it might be 11-12 years now.  Chances sure are low but gotta hope.

I would suggest going for the Northern most zones.  You can select up to 10 or just put all.   The southern areas the tag fill rate is a lot less.  I always put in for bull and cow tags as i would be happy to just go.  Zones 1-6 are the best.   i also go for the ones surrounding them.  If you go on the maine moose page the take rates are on there too. if i remember i did 1-6, 10,11,18,19.

This will be my 21st year, it’s a donation to a good cause. I also put in for New Hampshirite and Vermont.

there is that new adaptive hunt in region 4 - not sure i understand it so i passed on a draw for that.  But i have 21 points built up.  So guess we wait and see in June

You hear June for next yrs hunt? If you are not picked for the lottery how many points do then get?

they draw the permits in mid June.

  It used to be a set amount but last i heard they were going to be changed to a sliding scale on how long youve been applying.

My cousin has been putting in since the nonresident lottery started. He purchases extra chanches every yr.  His wife was selected in 2019, and he was the sub. He got this moose in zone 19 on the first day.

This will be my 3rd year applying. I usually just buy 6 chances. I go in it with the mindset it will be many years before I ever draw.

That's what I did. 10 chances per year and I hit on year 3. But I won a cow tag and traded it for a bull... plus an extra $1500... worth every penny!

Holu smokes,that is a long time.  I thought about starting in Maine this year,but if it takes that long I won't be able to hunt a moose by then,haha.
