  2. I’m beyond excited, I had a back to back in 2 days with 2 awesome hunts. Thursday I called in 10 birds at once, 9 left. Today I called in a lone hot mature bird all by himself Yesterday was 4.5 beard and 1/8 “ spurs Today 8” beard and 3/4 “ spurs. I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to enjoy my hunting and harvest 2 nice toms, and have a great time in the woods

  3. So my buddy has three reveal cameras on the lease property. He keeps them going all year. In the last month a few small bears have come by. Big guy came by this week. One night he hung around for hours! Pretty nice one for this time of year.

  9. Had a big gobbler cross in front of the car last evening. Wouldn't luck have it. Lots of fog this morning. Plenty of deer sightings, no turkey yet.

  11. Took a walk today. Looking for a spot for Wednesday. Not a lot of turkey sign but had a bucket and a small spade with me. Gathered up about 2/3 of a 5 gallon bucket. Gave half of them away to a friend. Sauted in olive oil on toasted bruschetta with eggs for breakfast tomorrow. A breakfast fit for a king imho.

  17. This afternoon I put together a new steel reactive target I got last Christmas, rated for 22 ammunition it is one of those spring loaded jobs that falls back on a hit and flips back up for the next shot. Got out the new Charter Arms Target Pathfinder and got it sighted in half way decent and then let a few fly at this new target, the standard velocity ammo I was using out of the four inch barrel did not have enough ass to knock the steel down, but a good audible clank and slight movement let me know when a good hit was made. I am pretty sure with high velocity ammo out of rifles the plate will tip back with a good hit. All in all it will add some interesting variety to my plinking. Al

  19. Day 3...this is strange here. Not a single gobble or turkey seen so far this season. Still nice to be out here though. Good luck to all out there

  20. I threw away the box it came in and there are no markings on the target itself, I am pretty sure it was purchased at a Runnings store, they stock and sell a lot of steel targets. Al

  22. Wont hurt to try a turkey choke to see how much better it would be at that range or if you have a 35-40 yard shot

  24. I had 7 deer come by the decoys. A button buck spent a half hour trying to figure them out. After they left a tom with three hens came across the corn field. I shot at 40 yards. 3" nitro shot. Hens flew off but the Tom did not follow and flew off in another direction. I looked for 2 hrs but found nothing. Had 5 jakes going crazy an hour later but could't get close enough. It was a good morning!

  25. I had a hen at 10 yards of my decoys , but not Toms behind her. I did hear lots of gobbling. I did notice that there was a lots of pressure around me. Crazy because I would expect that on Saturday but not on Wednesday. Congrats to those who punched thier tag.

  26. I had a chance to trade a hundred bales of hay for a trio of 2 year old Red Bourbons a while back. Didn't figure the turkeys were worth 300, and I don't have to feed the hay.
