  2. Just checked my email and found this: The Senate Environmental Committee approved S1699A this morning. It now moves to the Finance Committee for their review prior to the floor vote. Thank you to everyone for making calls and sending letters on behalf of this, it really does make a difference. I will let everyone know when this is placed on the Finance Committee agenda. 3. Another gimmick, like the fighting purrs and screaming peacock... 99% of the time, if a gobbler is GOING to come in, he'll come in to hen yelps and clucks.. One of the deadliest woods callers that I know( who happens to be an ex NYS calling champ) uses yelps and clucks on a mouth call nearly exclusively.. Last year he limited out in PA and NY on four longbeards in 4 consecutive days. He doesn't use any props like decoys or blinds, either...He just sits up against a tree, or very often, lays on the ground behind a log or a hump in the woods, and calls 'em in and kills 'em. I hate him....<< grin>>....

  4. Received word that Senate Bill S1699 is now amended to S1699-A and has been placed on the Senate Environmental Committee Agenda for Tuesday April 16th at 9am. Please contact the members of the Senate Environmental Conservation Committee with your support of S.1699-A as soon as possible. If you are a constituent, please let the office know. Also, if you are a current or former bowhunter it is important that you also let them know. We need to let them know that there is a large segment of bowhunters that support crossbow use in all seasons. This is not only a deer and bear issue, it’s a small game issue too. We should be able to hunt turkeys, bowfish and hunt all small game. 5. I've been getting quite a few PMs asking about black flash. I figure it best to just have this thread to save me from having to re-type, and make it a little easier to resource. Right now, game cams can be had in white flash (traditional or LED), red IR, or "black flash." Black flash is a term used by multiple manufacturers and hunters in general; however, it means different things to different companies and people. One company's black flash may not be the same product type at another company. In my belief a black flash cam should be invisible to you locked into a closet, bathroom without a window, etc. and not being able to see it at 3 feet or so. The problem is that human eyes vary a bit, and some people are better at seeing black flash than others - so one person may see a black flash at 3 feet when another cannot. A good example of a difference would be a Covert Black 60 or a Bushnell black flash compared to say the Hunten GS35 or some early black flash moultries. I can see the Hunten fire at about 7-8 feet....just barely, but still, much more than the Covert or Bushnell. So, when you hear black flash, don't automatically assume it is completely invisible to the human eye, or deer eye. A covert or Bushnell is a good choice...they seem to have solid black flash capabilities. Reconyx too, but that's a different price class of cams most won't buy. I prefer Covert for a variety of reasons, but wouldn't outright scare someone from a Bushnell purchase if their mind is set on it. Black flash night pic quality is apple to apple a bit less clear than the same cam in IR. A good comparison is the Black 60 vs Red 40, or the Primos Blackout vs. their comparable red flash model (46 or 60). Now, in most cases, it's not a big difference and really shouldn't scare people away from the benefit of invisibility. The minor trade off is worth it in nearly every instance for every hunter. Eventually red IR will go the way of the dodo and dinosaur as tech develops and price points drop. White flash will remain as it has fans and has color night pics. Red IR is just a stick in the mud with no real room for development. As long as you don't need white flash, I suggest buying future cams in legit black flash only. Its ability to prevent mature bucks from showing cam avoidance has become clear to me. It also helps in security needs. If you have any questions, ask here and I can answer if I know it. If not, I can usually figure it out pretty quick.

  6. Oh good lord, look what i missed. Sorry if i didnt answer any emails or pms, ive been busy. The language is unacceptable, no bones about it. As for the length of time for a comment, its been covered. I will say that I didnt hear a darn one of the people here complaining about the 2nd ammendment references, calling out the liberals for starting the rhetoric before the kids in Sandy Hook's bodys were cold. I havent heard one of you condemn anyone for parading the kids parents around Washington, or use that and the Aurora tragedies as fodder for their agendas. Double standards are convenient, arent they?

Well she must have told one too many ppl because the following year I read were a father son team got caught during deer season...hunting over an open bag of corn....to lazy to even pour it out.....

  19. Found this......... "There is an urgent need to fund ongoing efforts by Tresmond Law to pursue this case including a civil rights lawsuit on behalf of David. At present, the best way to donate to the legal defense fund is to mail donation checks payable to “James D. Tresmond” to: James D. Tresmond, 222 Long Avenue, Hamburg, NY 14075. Please note on your check that it is a donation/gift for the defense fund. Alternative methods to donate via credit card, PayPal are being pursued. " When the PayPal is up & running I'll be happy to donate.

  20. Last pictures for me for about 3 weeks. Always bring them in to go over and clean up, its a sad and long 3 weeks . Also its turkey season so it works out well so no turkey hunters stumble across them. Although its private ground every once in a while I catch a trespasser, So better safe than sorry.

  22. Fight about what? The fact that you called smoking hunters rednecks and I see that as silly? If you are playing the wind, as you should be, it doesnt matter anyway. Plenty of non-rednecks smoke. But coming from the type that feels one bowhunter is not as much of a "true bowhunter" (whatever that means) as another just because they do something different, it doesnt surprise me much. I also see that any discussion on here seems to be a "fight" to you as being rather silly as well. Anywho... I didnt see the logos either, I was just wondering since they look very similar.

  25. Alright fellas, I film regular folks hunting all over the country. So if you didn't like Chasing Tail, you just might like the full feature films I put together: http://www.huntography.com/2012-huntographers/2011-huntographers/ http://www.huntography.com/2012-huntographers/ Heck, I grew up hunting in Ulster and Delaware county on both my back 40 and on public land. I'd love to film some of you guys in the future to show everyone how New Yorker's hunt. Rudy Sent from my camo iPhone 5 using Tapatalk

  27. I do not have a youth to take this coming weekend, so making the offer here on these items. I also must state that if this is breaking any of the new laws, I need to retract the ammo offer. I bought some Remington Premier Magnum Copper Plated 3" 12 Gauge No 5. turkey loads because I couldn't find my standby Winchester Supreme loads. Needless to say, I found the Supreme after the fact. The Remingtons are good mid-grade loads. I shot three out of the Remington box, but since I have the load I want, I have no need for the Remingtons. I will be glad to give these loads to a youngster (with parent/guardian approval/accompanied). If the youngster also needs a pot call, I can provide one or two as I have a few I won't use (Primos or HS Strut glass and synthetic mostly). Will need to meet face to face with the parent, etc. as I don't want to get into shipping it. Just throwing it out there.
