Thanks pop. No sooner did I put tag away and a hot doe came in behind me. This six right on her tail. Wanted her but she got nervous and scooted. Not a great rack but nice sized buck. Muzzleloader at 25 yards. He went 10 Going to field dress him and hunt does. Lots of shooting going on and splendid day.14 points

Hunting in Churchville (8G), this morning. She came in with a huge doe, but they knew something was wrong, & they were really alert. They were about to bolt, so I took the first chance I had. 15yards. Thankful to have her.8 points

Congrats on a great bear but friend, that is the worst picture I've ever seen. Couldn't you flip him on his side and get the leaves off him/her? (and take the noose off it's neck?) I know I'll get some grief for it but cripes, you owe it to the animal to do a better job. OK, hammer away...................5 points

So my story for the day, go to friends place to hunt with him, sit the same stand to shoot the shit really. On the way out we find a ground blind, not his. I was asked to help my friend learn to hunt , after 3 years of close calls and some small game she was able to connect on a beautiful 10 pt opening day, she wanted to learn to gut it herself.as well so with some instruction she dove right in!!!4 points

Each weapon has it's time. Now it is time for you to exact your revenge on all those deer that were just out of bow-range .... Ha-ha-ha. Enjoy whatever season that is put in front of you. My nice new rifle also has its fun aspects. I enjoy it all. As Fred Bear used to say, "Be a two-season hunter". The old guy had it right.4 points

I have been setting up people on this forum with cell cameras for a few months. I have a few extra that I'd like to offer up for sale for Black Friday with a nice twist to it. I have another running thread on this, but its more informational and not so much for sale details. Sample pics are actual text pics. The pics saved to the SD card will be much higher resolution/clarity. These are cell cameras made by BMC. They work off of At&T SIM cards and you DO NOT need to have At&T cell phones to have these work for you. I have a Verizon cell phone, for example. I will offer up a camera (or two), along with SD cards, AND I will provide the At&T SIM card. Once I get your cell number, you literally need to do nothing but turn the camera on and set it in the woods. You will need to re-up the At&T plan when your text package runs out, but that's like paying a bill online. $190 per cam shipped COUS, with Paypal gift (or add the fees). This sale will be good until EOD Friday.3 points

Well I bought a new house last week and I have seen deer all over the place. Mostly does and a few small bucks. Seems like a resident group of about 5-6 does live with a small range around my house. I put a camera about 30 feet into the woods behind the house on a well used trail. Have a ton of video of does and a spike and a small 7 point and now this decent young 8 point. He's the biggest I've had on camera all year. I've been hunting state land all year and unfortunately haven't found anything big enough to shoot. This 8 I have behind the house would be tempting but I would like to see what he would look like if he can make it till next year.3 points

Opening morning 7 pointer, located in 9P. Shot with Remington .243 pump, 10 a.m harvest This is my second year hunting this creek bottom. Last year I seen 23 deer opening day, I am about 1/2 mile in the woods from two roads. I believe a lot of hunters were pushing deer right to me, I had no shots last year, it was to thick to shoot on the other side of the creek. This summer I made some nice clearings and hung up a stand, hoping I would have similar movement like last year. I only seen 4 deer this year, but this 7 pointer did exactly what I planned for. After slowly watching this buck take one slow step at a time for about 15 minutes, he finally gave me a 60 yard shot with about a 6 " opening to shoot. I could see another hunter about 100 yards down the creek, so I had to make a perfect shot. I hit him good and he ran about 10 feet. This is a respectable 2 1/2 year old where I hunt on state land , out of 7 guys I was the only one who seen a buck opening weekend.3 points

So I see this all the time and this is no way directed at you specifically Cory but deer being nocturnal what do they do burrow underground or something all I ever hear is that they have gone nocturnal....so why not go wake them up....I understand if you can't bc of property lines but them going nocturnal to me means I don't feel as bad still hunting or even mini drives just to get them on their feet.Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk3 points

Nobody flips off an old man in a Buick ! Most wonder how the heck he shot the deer to begin with, I also drive home with the left signal on the whole way..... If someone gets upset and flips me off I consider that a win for me, but I'm weird like that.3 points

The secrete is Atomic Fireballs. Pop one in and before it's gone a deer will show up. Not sure what works on Heidi Klum , I'm still working on Sophia Vergara, came close with Mike and Ike's still fine tuning .....2 points

So I'm trying to lure deer in using mental telepathy. Concentrating real hard so one will appear. FYI. It didn't work with Heidi Klum , heart shaped jacuzzi in Niagara Falls either. Meh , All I got was Oprah in a kiddie pool.2 points

Drives: very effective hunting method that can be fun. I participated in a lot of drives in my early years, and then I decided that my hunting was not going to be a "team activity". I have changed in recent years to consider my deer hunting to be an individual activity that measures only my individual abilities as a hunter. That is just a personal approach to my hunting, and not an indictment of those that participate in organized drives. I will say that our drives used to be a lot of fun, and we took a whole lot of deer, and we definitely moved a lot of deer that would have stayed bedded in the thick stuff for the whole day. So even those people quietly sitting in the woods got their portions of the deer that otherwise would not have even been seen.2 points

I love bowhunting but at the same time as soon as gun season rolls around I put my bow down and pick up the rifle. Rifle season has a lot of meaning to me because like many others, its when my grandfather introduced me to hunting.2 points

allowed to now set traps closer to water. So coon trapping now easier. But now it's time for trapping mink , muskrat and beaver.2 points

Me ? No. I can shoot a doe most sits. We let young bucks walk and have some real nice ones in the area , that's what I'm after. I took a decent buck in bow and my goal is a much bigger one in gun. This morning I took a good sized doe as conditions were right, right stand , time of day, close to my car for an easy drag. But I'm fortunate I have a very good spot and tons of time to hunt. This question varies so much depending on where guys hunt and how much they do. One guy on the farm took three doe by 9:00 AM today , I know someone else that shot one out the kitchen window ..... Some on here can go days without seeing one.2 points

You seem to vent a lot. You've only been here for a week and a half and you've already posted multiple threads about how other people are ruining hunting for you. Why do you even hunt if it's that stressful?2 points

Another successful year at Camp-Hole-in-the-Wall in West Almond, Allegany county. Shot a spiker and a doe, my buddy Matt killed an 8-pointer WAYYYY back at the top of the mountain. 2 other guys left before it got good, shame on them.2 points

you made the right call!!!! keep them as they are. Never a big fan of the guys who fix points but to each his own.2 points

As is! Only way I would fix a broken tine is if the break occurred on the fall after my shot and it was laying right there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points
