God bless all of them

unless it is a designated campsite, you need to be at least 150 feet from a pond, lake or stream

A favorite day for me, when the Irish all celebrate that great Welshman, Saint Patrick.

some sort of a sight pusher for moving dovetail sights? A SWAG on my part.

had one at the house for several years, she had a beard that eventually was about 9 inches. The gobblers did not care if she looked a little butch, as she always had a bunch of poults every spring. I would always ask the local guys to not shoot her. But one summer she was not around. several of her poults had beards.

Had both of my kids on their own policy with their own cars. My ex did not have any assets to speak of so we put them as residents of her household. No problem with the insurance. My main concern was a catastrophic lawsuit if they got into a accident..... which thank heavens they never did. Might want to consider a mechanically sound vehicle, but with a beater body. They may well rearrange the bodywork in the first year of driving. the

change footing to roofing in above post

mlammerhirt- Aluminum ladder or other stuff like foofing is often for the sound effects in the mating /territory establishment time. Sometimes it is a close woodpecker relative, the common flicker

later in the season, when (and if) the snow gets about 14 inches deep, the deer will head to their winter ranges (deer yards or winter concentration areas). If you can find a pinch point or a area along a stream, they may come to you. Once the snow seriously comes, 90 % of the deer will be in 10% of the land.

was just going to say what DDT said. Your blind is likely buggy. Only other time they do this is when they pick a tree or building that resonates when they peck it. Use sound to attract mates and establish territories.

A question just popped into my mind. Organic fast acting Lime? Not sure on how its made, but thought that this was just pulverized Limestone. Wouldn't it all be organic?

Where To Start In The Hunt For A Covid Shot?
Farflung replied to Lawdwaz's topic in General Chit Chat
You may or may not not qualify, but I went through the Vets Administration. Happened to sign up right as they had a cancellation and I was in within 2 days. very efficent at the medical center, I was in and out within 40 minutes, including a 15 post injection wait to see if I was allergic. -
Big thing that kicked in with me was the cost savings of not commuting. Mine was only 38 miles one way, but that saved me about 150 dollars/wk, tax-free. Plus saving close to 2 hours/day. If you are driving your own vehicle each day, the savings of time and money will be huge.

Yup, you can tell its february by the forum subject matter.

46rkl- had a few of the Saranac Happy hour hero ipa's the other day. they were excellent. I would rate them up with Sierra Nevada Torpedo, Southern Tier 2X IPA and Dogfish Head 60 minute.

Just finished 2 John Sanford novels, Bloody Genius (from the Virgil Flowers series) and Masked Prey (From the Lucas Davenport series). Both fast paced detective novels. Whole series are a great read. I also read the C.J. Box novels about Joe Pickett, who is a Wyoming game warden. Read the first one because it was a area that I had hunted. Kept reading the series because they rang true to what I know, great interplay with established charecters including family plus he is always fighting the beauocracy. I would start with the first one, "Open Season" and go on from there. My hunting buddy, who is not much of a reader has read them all. The author, C.J.Box, has won a whole bunch of writing awards from the various crime writers groups.

Does anyone in Northern Oneida County vicinity shoot 6 mm Remington. I accidentally came by a box of reloads. In a Remington box but the brass is Norma or Winchester Western. Spitzer type bullet with a exposed lead nose. 19 loaded and one just the brass. No good to me.

use the Havalon Piranha with the more rounded tip blade for field dressing. I carry a butt-out, Gerber guthook and, most importantly, a kevlar class 5 left hand glove in addition to the knife.

are they brass? kind of look like it in the photo.

just announced. Sad day. Been listening to him for about 20 years. The start of conservative talk radio.

lots of "if's" involved with landlocked property. Often revolves in part on how the title to the property evolved. It can be very close to a road on one side, but have came out of a great lot on the other side of the property that is a swamp. If you obtain access, it may come accross the swamp. Usually better to purchase a R.O.W. from a neighboring piece or look for another piece of land.

If you have outstanding mineral rights on your property, this might be a good time to buy them. With the current Cuomo administration it is unlikely to have fracking or other drilling for the immediate future. But .... things change, and at some point they may be in play again. You could start with your county real property office, but you will likely need the help of a lawyer who deals in these rights.

yup, they are pretty "tameable", When I bowhunted, they would often fly up into the tree. I had to drop my arrow down to keep them from landing on the broadhead. I was just reading the past week that they huddle in tree cavities, sometimes in groups, to stay warm at night.

I'd have one if I wasn't so cheap. These look great and I can see a ton of places in NY to use them, plus out west

I saw one on a slope in Northern Region 7 (Morrisville area). Even had a rudimentary roof. A fellow forester told me about ones on hunting clubs in the catskills that were fairly elaborate. They set them into hillsides, with a good downhill field of fire. They had a front on them. I also remember a turkey magazine from around 1984 that had a guy talking about a dugout pit with a cover that he used for calling turkeys. Wish I had kept the magazine.
