  4. I have no idea if this is a good price or not at $109 for 500 rounds. But at least its brand name and it's in stock. https://www.sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore.com/products2.cfm/ID/76280
  5. Prayers sent to the families who lost a loved one .
  6. Im sure its a quality built firearm . But the specs say it weighs 8.8 lbs ? Thats heavy . Add a scope to that and you are over 10 lbs !
  7. DD I am a hunter and fisherman and you are right about the costs . But the value of being out there in the outdoors is just PRICELESS ! They just dont understand the peace of mind that it gives us . Absolutely ! Just every moment out in the woods or on the water is so much fun . It just doesn't get any better than being out there .
  8. Cost of 2 rounds $22 . Cost of gas to get to and from hunting spot for the day $12 . Cost of turkey calls and gear is who knows . Time used to hike in , hopefully shoot one , then time to clean it even at slave labor of $1 an hour we will call it worth $10. Total cost of turkey if you do shoot one the 1st time out approximately $52 with no cost of gear included Cost of turkey going to the supermarket . 99c a lb for fresh cleaned 15 lb bird $15 . 5 lb bag of potatoes $2.50 3 lbs of fresh peeled butternut squash $ 6. Bag of fresh trimmed and washed green beans $2.50 . Bag of corn $2 . Can of cranberry sauce $2 . Can of gravy $1 . Apple pie from the bakery $ 6 . Pack of 12 IPA $15 Cost of supermarket turkey dinner , dessert and beer $ 52 So can someone remind me why its such a great idea to get up at 4am and fight ticks all day to hopefully shoot a turkey ? LOL
  9. If you look at the specs of the VX Freedom 3-9 Muzzleloader scope and the VX Freedom 3-9 rifle scope , they are identicle. The only thing thats different is the reticle . The rifle scope has the duplex and the muzzleloader has the circle reticle. I had a scope with the circle and hated it. Covered too much on the target. Even the the Leupold advertised as a having muzzle loader or shotgun scope , they really aren't and different that their rifle scopes. But some other brands did have scopes with specs designed for shotguns and muzzleloaders . The different specs were like as mentioned by DD , the parallax is set at 75 yards when most rifle scopes either have no parallax adjustment or its set at 100 yards . The big difference is scopes designed for shotgun and muzzleloader usually have a 5 inch eye relief . The thinking is you wont get wacked due to higher recoil . Sounds like a great idea but it comes at a cost to the FOV . The field of view is much smaller on a scope with a 5 inch eye relief than with a rifle scope of the same power with a 3.75 to 4 inch eye relief . I really didn't care for the tunnel vision of the 5 inch eye relief . I just keep it simple and have rifle scopes on everything.
  10. Cuomo can make up that 15 billion easily . Just defund the entire police force . Then he can sell the movie rights to his buddies in Hollywood for the " Escape From New York " sequel
  11. They are NOT private companies . They are public companies as they are listed and traded on the stock market as such . You have to admit that it was total bias to the left at all media companies. Things need to change. We CANNOT have our country run by Google, Twitter, Facebook , Apple , and Amazon. This monopoly needs to be blown up . Even the national news stations , ABC , CBS , and NBC were totally off their rocker when reporting the news. I would actually watch an event live , and then when it was reported by the big news anchors , Stephanopoulos , Muir , etc , I would sit back and scratch my head wondering what they were talking about . What they were reporting didn't even resemble what actually happened . I guess honest reporting of the actual news like Walter Cronkite is long gone.
  12. Had some business to take care of at Hampton Beach NH and thought it would be a good idea to treat the wife to a lobster dinner. Went to the lobster pound at the docks and picked up a 2 3/4 and a 3 lber for dinner. Wow the oceanfront was was really frothing out there spraying sea foam over the sea wall all over the road . Steamed lobster , baked asparagus and stuffed mushrooms . Iced tea for her and some Long Trail IPA for me
  13. Does this mean you are going to need a " double dose " each application ?
  14. You have to pick a black and a white one or else you will be labeled as a racist
  15. If your problem just appeared out of nowhere like that it might be just the fuel filter. Those small generators have a plastic tube gas filter inside the gas line under the gas tank . You will need to empty the tank to clean it. I bet its this tube filter and not the carburetor . The 1st vid shows you where it is and cleaning it but he doesn't show you how he took the 2 panels off to get to the filter. The second vid shows taking the 2 panels off to get to the filter and shows you where it is. but he doesn't take the filter out.
  16. The best " Return On Investment " you get from predator hunting and trapping coyotes is they are no longer out there eating the deer you want to hunt .
  17. Its not all the workers back but it's a start https://www.timestelegram.com/story/news/2021/01/08/remington-arms-ilion-gets-federal-firearms-license/6602625002/?fbclid=IwAR3vFDNPvxvXvK594P-4phoEx15dSaF1G-vyn7GFtUETkADBFaheVDtgcHs
  18. These are the best markers i have used . Bright Eyes . They are definitely the brightest and long lasting . I 've had some of these marking certain trails that are over a mile to the treestand . They have been on those trees for 15 years or more in some spots and are still shining . Some other brands are ok too . The Hunter's Specialties tacks and the HME are good. Just not quite as bright. You can find them at Walmart or Cabelas and Amazon . https://www.amazon.com/LEWIS-ORIGINAL-BRIGHT-EYES-BLISTER/dp/B0000AVWE8/ref=sr_1_10?crid=1KWBS9QTRLG9K&dchild=1&keywords=reflective+tacks+for+trees&qid=1610171907&sprefix=reflective+tacks+fo%2Caps%2C171&sr=8-10 https://www.ebay.com/itm/HME-Reflective-Tacks-White-50-Pack/113235723627?epid=18011026874&hash=item1a5d60056b:g:e0QAAOSw8W1bkWuz
  19. Just in case Steve863 is right that its a bomb prototype , make sure you are at least 300 feet back and behind a sheet of steel when you try it , to avoid getting hit by the shrapnel Im sure we will all be in the bleachers 1000 feet away cheering you on ! Go FL Go !
  20. I only used teflon tape once when sighting in my Encore with a new scope . Fired 9-10 shots . I cleaned the barrel every 2 shots by putting a patch over my brush and putting solvent on the back half of the patch. Didn't take the breech plug out until I got home . When I took it out to give the gun the full cleaning , the teflon tape was melted into all the threads. Had to get a wire brush to scrape the plastic out of all the threads . Took me 3 times as long to clean the breech plug than it did to clean the gun . Maybe it would of been ok for 3-4 shots but it sure made a mess with 10 shots . Never had a problem using grease and firing even more shots than 10 .
  21. Have you guys seen the new style muzzle loader from Traditions ? Thought I would post this article since there is another thread about greasing the breech plug. This muzzle loader doesn't have a breech plug. You slide just the bullet down the barrel that has a built in stop down the barrel. Then load the powder charge just like a single shot centerfire rifle. According to the article this is now a legal muzzle loader in at least 30 states and gaining momentum . Im sure all the other brand name manufactures will make a model to to utilize the FireStick . https://www.outdoorlife.com/story/hunting/federals-firestick-will-be-a-game-changer-in-the-muzzlelader-hunting-world/
  22. Great job on the coyotes CHC . I cant believe how many of them there are now. Freakin Everywhere. That light brownish one in the 2nd picture looks like an old dog . I wonder how many deer that bastid chewed on before you gave it its last supper .
