Im not topping left fields story but... Wind blows peoples trash on my yard so yesterday I was out picking it up. I come across a mysterious plastic sandwich baggy with a small amount of green plant material inside. It was almost on my neighbors, 90 year old woman. I assumed this was some type of medicinal herb of some sort and she had carelessly strewn about her meds. The nerve! So... I knocked on the door and gave her a piece of my mind... It wasn't hers and I didn't think it was. I thought it would be comical to go over and pretend to be mad. She got a kick out of it. "TED"

I did Keto early December until last week. It took me several weeks to get in the zone, but I did get there and got back one notch on my belt. Its coming though back as I love my sweets. So hard to say no. Keto did what I wanted. I suspect I could have gotten similar results by cutting down on my food intake.

Been playing for years. Cheating hmmm.... Some well thought out "talk" about the hand were allowed and encouraged at my table. Long as it was not so blatant. It was all fun. Weekly games in NYC. Played with a bunch of roller derby girls one time when I went.

Planning to load up the dog, the gun and (maybe..) the wife and head to the meetup sat. Thinking before hand find a range and work on my groupings. Any advice where to shoot close by the meetup spot? Im coming from the South so anything before would work.

All seriousness. Dog friendly establishment? My lab does go about everywhere she can with me and some she cant.

How desperate are we for females to attend? I have a four legged furry one whom I usually bring everywhere. Just afraid someone going to hit on her.

I am getting annoyed. Second time this winter my pipe froze. Dryer outlet faces west and last time the cap blew off (so I thought was the issue). I stuffed it back on and jammed a rag into it a few days ago to block the wind. Figured that would do the trick. No such luck. Pipe froze in about 3 hours last night. Turned the dryer on and 10 minutes later horrible banging and clanging noises. Ice jam making its way through the pipes. I had the faucet open so things did not burst. Dodged another bullet. Left a faucet dripping last night after the thaw and this morning no problem. Was not happy waiting for a late train with windchill at -17 this morning.

I wonder what the legalities of baiting deer with ganja is... When I went there, I was sitting in a bar when all the sudden this guy fell off like a 4ft bar stool. It was really high.. (no pun intended) He landed on the concrete with the most shocking crashing sound, right next to the feet of a very red eyed local. I was sure he was not going to get up and walk away. somehow he did manage to get up with help from the very scared staff. He even walked away announcing he was going to get some rest.

....."any injuries are test bites to see if you're a fat juicy seal..." FYI - There are at least a few documentaries where great white survivors tell they were attacked multiple times. Not just an exploratory bite. Probably some are only exploratory, but there seem to be documented cases where this is not accurate.. I recall one off the top of my head the guy was on his surf board. The shark bit the board first then either attacked the board again and knocked him off or got his leg. Ab divers referred to them as "The men in grey suits.."

I dove with sharks in the Bahamas. They were smallish though and really left you alone. Not sure I would jump in the water with that white shark. I used to abalone dive in California. Never saw one but others I dove with had. One did circle a boat I was on one day. That thing was MASSIVE. Effortlessly circled the boat twice looked up at me and disappeared.

Shes a pretty good duck dog, especially for my first lab. I trained her myself and I am very very happy with her abilities and desire to sit next to me. I wanted to breed her but it didn't work out. Her puppies would have been excellent hunters. One thing though she is energetic. Not a mellow lab by any means, but Ill keep her. She goes bonkers when she sees the guns as she knows its fun time.

Pay heed to the griebe comment. They are around. I have had two come into my spread on different years. They are small. I don't boat hunt, I am on the shoreline. I have a pair of waders and wade out until water is about up to my stomach, or a little lower. I set out decoys at that depth. Many guys set out a string of decoys in a line and use a boat to set them out further than waders would allow. I don't do this, but its done often. I don't for the simple fact birds usually come into my spread and its another level of effort to get it going.

Also you can go old school and retrieve with a fishing pole. Nice heavy lure with lots of hooks. Not the best but can work in a pinch. Also pay attention to the wind strength and direction. If you work it right, the wind can help you retrieve with your fishing pole. A dozen dekes is enough. I don't put out more than that usually anyways.

I nominate Helmut in the Bush for having such a savage sounding name. Is it me or does anyone else laugh at the hidden connotations of that screen name?? Anyone anyone anyone???

What a slow weekend. Last weekend snows and canadas were everywhere. This weekend I saw one and only one flock (canadas) flying the entire weekend. Lots of guys out with dekes but everyone I went by they were standing up wandering around. Looked like zero action anywhere. Found large piles of canadas along the shoreline. Why they didn't fly I am not sure. The one flock I saw flying I Happened to look out the window and see them. While later I happened to look out a different window and saw they had landed across the street in a corn field! An impossible stalk from the beginning, we went out and did what we could to get close. 120 yards is a good guess. They flew away, likely laughing. Got some exercise at least. The fat lady finished her song Sunday. Canadas are closed for me now, snows went south, my camp is buttoned up for the rest of the winter. Come on spring snow season...

Thanks everyone!! I hit the range again and my groupings still need work. I am doing factory loads right now but my hunting buddy reloads 308 and 243. i'm going to get him a 7m-08 die so he can reload some for me. Recipes????? I shot nearly another box through it saturday. Last shot my shoulder screamed at me and told me it was done. I was consistently high at 100 yards, which is good as its sighted for 200. I was left and right more than is acceptable in my opinion. Yes on the scope though sadly at 200 yards I am unimpressed. Not sure what I am going to do. I may send back to Leupold and ask if this is the way it is or this one is defective. Maybe I need to play with the eye piece. I ordered this sept 2018. A year and 4 months about. Melvin seems OK but I assume the gentleman is getting tired. He said something like "I am wearing all the hats." I went back and fourth on this gun so many times for so long. Worth it or not.. My wife got a brand new dream kitchen and a brand new Jeep. That tipped the scale for me. Its a great gun so far. I am going porky pig hunting this spring on a canned hunt in Tioga. Been waiting to do this hunt until my NULA was ready. Now its time.
