  1. You literally have the most preferred foods growing here. I see an abundance of great diversity growing in these plots. Keep the pressure off them some and they should pull wildlife into winter.
  2. You could have some sweet food plots tucked away right there! Wife just gave me the ok to go get a new tractor, Im going to have to go check out the prices down there one night this week!
  3. My sharpening kit from stay sharp just arrived a few days ago. Only reason i ordered it was these broadheads are single beveled. and must be held at the right angle. Im sure a better knife sharpener can do it with different tools but i cant lol. Stay sharp holder and 3 different grit diamond plates about 6" squares.
  4. Charge him with that smokin gun!
  5. Yea your not kidding, There's 3 acres of cover that butts up to it, might just cut a path through that instead lol Would certainly be the smarter way now that i think of it. lol
  6. I'm really so amazed by what good soils can produce. Living and fighting with poor clay soils my whole life.. The soil at my new house is amazing! These are 5 weeks old today, zero fertilizer used and they're anywhere from 12-20" tall and just getting ready to produce bulbs. The clovers, annual and perennial as well as alfalfa is literally thriving in between .. time to put a camera and mock scrape at the back. along with a ground blind for the wife.. Not sure why two pics are upside down.. cant seem to fix it.
  7. That looks amazing! And I can foresee blood splatter soon! Always always always go with seed blends, you'll reap the rewards in more ways than one! What Phade said, but also take in to effect that out in the middle where there is less or no shade, the summers drought will set back to dormancy anything good growing, and gives the area vulnerability to new and greater weed growth, and unless the weeds get controlled, they win most times in areas like these. Shade means cooler more moist soils, giving your target seed species a better chance to thrive. .
  8. Give it a dose or triple 15 or triple 19 if you can, Or if you have the ability use a liquid fertilizer instead. Also, don't plant brassicas there again until you get some legumes and grains in there beforehand. You'll ruin that plot for brassica plantings if you do so too many times consecutively. Ask me how i know lol.
  9. Sprayed Liquid 11-4-9 on my Kill Plot for the wife last night, The deer are killing it now that the green beans have died and the corn is turning. The clover hay fields are greening up nicely, but they must like brassica plants too. Hope to get some more growth before they destroy it. The Rye/ Wheat is coming up and about 3" tall. I will broadcast a perennial blend here in the beginning of October.
  10. Back Deck View over the Grill Front porch view with the Freedom "Kinda Gucci" Stingray and my newly purchased property across the street!
  11. The only thing i look for on Ebay is their seller rating. I avoid the folk with lower ratings.. but otherwise. Never had an issue with ebay ever. Bought and sold many items there.
  12. It seems once they get past the first month or two they become more visual as they can retreat or flight from danger easier..
  13. Keep that hen alive to your best ability! She is good! lol Literally
  14. Well, I got a pretty heart wrenching Photo Friday.. The farmer sprayed 4 out of 5 of my Bulb plots that he allowed me to overseed into 3 non harvested Green Bean fields. I told him where I would seed just so he knew. The stage would have been set for some serious Rut action, with these plots growing pretty well within 100 yards of great Doe bedding areas. I thought he sprayed the one here in the trail cam pic but luckily he didn't, Said he saw the few tilled paths i did(before my tractor broke) and the bright green plants growing in them and elected not to spray there, not knowing(or forgetting lol). Oh well, I guess i have one plot for Fall winter attraction and shed hunting as these green beans will be dying fast now. Which means they will probably annihilate these brassica plants quickly now. We will see. I ran into the Farmer Yesterday and he felt terrible, Oh well things happen.. At least i didn't lose too much sleep over it, just some funds for 6 acres of bulb seeds.. lol
  15. BEst wishes to better health.. Hope you feel well enough to still do a few things since you are there.. We have Covid again as well. Third time now. Last was in May.
  16. Progress pics are awesome, good work!!
  17. Im not saying i would ever pay for a guided hunt, especially a high fence hunt.. but my buddy worked as the video cam dude for a hunting channel show.. and they had private fenced property they owned and free range property they owned also.. In his 3 years of being there, The bucks were harder to kill "inside" the pen vs hunting the same age class of bucks, "outside" of the pen.. and the "Pen" was 670 acres. Giving them a little more "unfenced feel" .. This was in Missouri as well. Take it how you want to.. but it makes sense.. More time spent in a more tighter core area.. you pick up on things out place a little quicker. These deer arent hand fed either, but depending on how you look at it.. fenced hunts can be argued many directions.. from many people.. Im not promoting or knocking them.. But facts are facts, and each situation is different. Business as usual..
  18. Good job. What lake are you fishing on at the in laws?
  19. Hope its not either. They damaged two of ours already this year but are still working somehow. Slashed holes in the sensor screen, not sure how rainfall hasnt killed the cams yet..
  20. Agree completely. I will say, seeds i got from Grandpa Rays is far better than anything i have ever planted before, including this year for plot comparisons. They germ so much easier in tough conditions. And last better in tougher conditions as well. He uses natural growth promoters on all his seeds and zero "coatings".. With super dry soil, I think its best to leave it alone, get a rainfall first and then prep and seed before the next rainfall. I know easier said than done as we get impatient. But with as many years as I've done this, I think finally getting back into i got anxious and desperate briefly lol. IT sure was a brutal summer for planting fall plots. But i guess as long as your learning from mistakes you're still winning
  21. Been buying copper bullets lately for the same reason as well for all my calibers
  22. So this means i should probably get my bow out? lol dang it
  23. I had a savage axis ii in 6.5cm and it shot 140eldm match ammo sub moa. Sold it to my brother only bc i won a browning a bolt in 6.5 the following year. Depends on your budget. and if you reload you can make most guns shoot good..
  24. Yep, If you provide preferred foods closer to a bedroom vs the corn.. you will certainly pull them in as well.
