Hit the range this morning with the 10mm & 44mag

3 words - reload , reload , reload -
I needed to sight in my 10 mm a bit better and just get some more trigger time with it . I’m shooting it ok in our pistol league but being a revolver guy it’s new territory for me. I did get it dialed in so we’ll see at the Wed. night league as long as I do my part. I’m still sighting in the new Leupold on the SRH and as usual fashion I had the 44 dialed in at 50 yards in no time. That revolver just flat out shoots, I ran some of my new 270 grain deep curls down the barrel and it liked them.

243 Win. (100 at 2960) 7.5 8.8 8.7 Here’s a comparison for recoil on both calibers , first number is gun weight , second is recoil energy and third is recoil velocity. 7mm-08 Rem. (120 at 3000) 7.5 12.1 10.2 The 243 Winchester shoots flatter and faster and recoils less. ... The 7mm-08 delivers more bullet energy than the 243 Winchester at all distances and can be configured (hand loaded with lighter bullets) to shoot as flat. Both use the same parent case. Here’s the recoil table I used .. https://www.chuckhawks.com/recoil_table.htm The 2 tables I listed are scrunched on a phone screen so turn your phone sideways

I would love to get a redhawk to keep my super company in the cabinet .

Never on a bow but I have 2 ultra dots on our revolvers, had one on my 44 mag till I installed the leupold and it held up to several hundred full tilt rounds. Great red dots ..

Sorry to hear this, pets are just part of the family.

Just to share what I did with my wife, I bought her a marlin 30-30 and while she shot it well and it didn’t have excessive recoil she came to dislike the weight of the gun. So I decided to buy her a gun made for a woman, she now has a Weatherby Camilla in 7-08 and she absolutely loves it. And man can she shoot it. I wish you were closer I would be more than happy to let your daughter try it out .

rob-c replied to Bionic's topic in Non Hunting Items For Sale and Trade
I have and use one, I bought mine probably 10-12 years ago and has saved me a bunch of money seeing a chiropractor. Works extremely well. -
Very nice, now to see if they make a hitch for the hellcat ..

Son and I shot out first outdoor pistol league tonight
rob-c replied to rob-c's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
First round we shot for 10 ring at about 10yards / Second round was brown cardboard idpa targets - 2 in chest 1 in head 2 in chest one at 10yards second at 13 yards/ Third was at 10 yards bad guy silhouette for score . 10 shots per round not timed , range officer said he try’s to switch it up every week. He did mention steel targets will be included. I do reload so we’re set on ammo, and yes good practice and fun .. -
Well dang , that 5th photo really shows his mass. Outstanding taxi work as usual..

Son and I shot out first outdoor pistol league tonight
rob-c replied to rob-c's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Corning fish and game, they do have more openings. Wednesday at 5:30 any caliber, 30 rounds total. -
Well we froze our butts off, not a competitive league so it was fun . My son shot his gifted from me 357 Blackhawk with 38’s and I took my 38 lcr. Really didn’t know what to expect but the targets were a bit far for my snubby 38 . Although I didn’t shoot bad, I think I’ll be taking the 10mm for the rest of the league. It was a good father son bonding time.

The muscles used to draw a bow are the levator scapulae it is located in the upper back and it aids in back tension by pulling the shoulder blade in and up toward the neck. This muscle works together with the trapezius and rhomboids to create what is referred to as “back tension” and is used to hold the bow back at full draw. The trapezius and rhomboids are also located on the upper back and provide the ability to move the shoulder blade towards the spine as well as up and down. A strong upper back is essential , with not only the ability to produce force but also the ability to hold weight steady for an extended period of time.

Not sure how you draw your bow but I use my back muscles .

Time to get back into shape fellas

Yep with out a peep too, funny how after the first couple arrows the rust falls off and muscle memory takes over . But with a crossbow one could have kept shooting till dark, I shot 13-14 arrows total and I was feeling it.

Since I didn’t hunt last year, it’s been some time since shooting my bow . I bought a HHA single pin slider and started sighting it in today. I was pretty happy with how i shot , this is my first group after rough sighting it in at 20. I still have to fine tune it yet as my archery muscles were a bit out of shape so I stopped ( quality over quantity ) . Sure did feel good to get out and shoot the bow though ..
