  1. Welcome!! Real nice to have you with us!!
  2. Nice work! Looks awesome!
  3. This was just a reminder folks, that united we stand, divided we fall. There are many out there who despise us, for who we are, and what we do. And would love nothing better, than to see hunting as we know it abolished. Now, on to what calibers are best for deer, and the crossbow thread!
  4. I really like that seat Jay! Where did you get it? Looks comfortable.
  5. Bills....would'a....could'a....should'a....won that game. Were up 16 to 0 in the third quarter. I still say Allen will be a good NFL QB at some point. But we saw his growing pains tonight.
  6. Most our ladder stands only have two sections of ladder on them and are only 8 or 9 feet up. Some the full 15 feet high. Also have some with only 1 section on, and hidden in hemlocks or pines where being lower offers a clearer shot. I'm more comfortable, and successful from the ground. But if I do hunt a ladder stand, I prefer to keep em as low as possible. As long as they are hidden well, I don't think there is an advantage in going higher, for me anyways. As long as they are placed properly.
  7. I've seen this on utube too. It does look like it would be fun to do!
  8. A new pup sure does light up your life. He is definitely a handsome little feller! And no doubt he'll bring you many smiles.

Nice to hear from ya Dan!
  10. I gotta congratulate you again on that beautiful buck! You really are doing a great job with the euro!! Slow and steady is the way to go. And it will be a fine mount to show off that buck, and a great reminder of that hunt too! Here is one I did two or three years ago. I picked the board from the old original homestead on the farm, built in the early 1800s. Used 7mm-08 cases, one of which killed the buck. And some dried grasses, from the property, dried by my hunting partners wife. I made a rough outline of the bottom on a piece of cardboard. Flipped it over and made a reverse pattern on top, that I cut with a jigsaw, and rough sanded. A rustic look is what I wanted. Came out OK I think. I may do something similar with this years buck, to go on the other side of the wall? Hope this helps with mounting ideas Chris???
  11. Best of luck out there guys!!! I'll be following along on this thread.
  12. What a great season you guys had!!! No ya's didn't get over 1000 inches, but some great deer were killed. And you all had a blast! THAT"S what it's all about!!! Best of luck for this year's quest!

    Stuff

There is good and bad "stuff"...... Looks to me, that is all "good" stuff!!! Bet those turkey calls sound sweet!! I need to do a cleaning this winter. I'll have "stuff" to sell, give away, and throw out. All to make room for new stuff!
  14. Congratulations! Becoming a grampy is like renewing the contract, and one of the best things in life.
  15. Got ya. Some great guys out there, that I'm sure would be happy to show ya a great place to eat, and buy ya a beer!
  16. So running around Dogpatch in the buff is a common occurrence? You'd think he'd at least have on a pair of Chuck Taylor's?
  17. Happy Birthday Rob!!! Wishing all the best on your special day. And throughout the year too!
  18. Happy New Year Everyone!! Be all you can be in 2020, in all of your outdoor endeavors. And should our paths cross, save a handshake and a smile for me. As I will for you.
  19. I have used the NAP Thunderheads with never a problem. Even with a low poundage bow at 50#, I've gotten pass throughs. Total arrow weight for me is just about 475g. Have heard good things about the Magnus heads too.
  20. Dogs really WANT to please us! As soon as they 'figure out' WHAT pleases us. And what doesn't, the more happy we, and them will be! Positive reinforcement, and constant repetition, is the key to getting them to understand, what it is that "makes you happy". Good luck with the pup. She's smarter than you think!! She just hasn't had the opportunity to learn, before you saved her. But she'll pick it up. Because obviously she loves you as much as you love her.
