  1. Awesome!!! Don't forget to write! And send pic's!!
  2. ^^^^ Exactly what I was going to say ^^^^ I have a pair of mid sized Nikon bino's that were around $150, but have seen them on sale at times for a bit less. Forgot what model? Perhaps Monarch? Get a nice clear view of anything within my hunting range. Good in low light too.
  3. An amazing player! Any fan of the game, should be a fan of this kid. No matter what team you may root for.
  4. Tomorrow morning at Woodlawn Sportsmens Club. There is still an opening or two left, for any capital region folks who want to take the course. Last Hunter Ed course this year for us.
  5. Pretty common around here. Very often mistaken for a copperhead, but totally different pattern and shape from a copperhead.
  6. Happy Birthday my friend!!! Hope your special day is chock full, and overflowing with all the good stuff!!
  7. Hi and welcome back Robin! Count me as one who very much enjoyed your posts and video's too. Sorry to hear of your health issues. Less than two years ago I underwent bladder cancer surgery, and I'm still having some problems popping up. And I have lost a step or two since then. But still kicking! Your experience and advice is still greatly valued here sir. Hope to hear more from you! Thank you for your service, and welcome home my friend.

^^ This ^^ And how many times can a person listen to a moron say.... "Ya jus don need seven boolats to kill a deahh" !!!
  12. Too much can go wrong, bowhunting in a steady rain. Been there, done that. Also, I just don't enjoy it as much in high temps, and or rain. I'll pass. Long season, plenty of time to hunt. Used to be, the season didn't open until the 15th, so these first two weeks still feel like "bonus time" to me.
  13. Forgot.......we have two tri-pod stands too!
  14. Awesome buck!!! But remember.......you're Meat First!.......
  15. I have tried a couple different blood tracking lights. My experience is, that they do help somewhat? Like if you have ample blood to track, it will illuminate it well. And if that's the case, any light works well. But if the blood is sparse, like pin drops, it is still difficult to pick up. You still need to be close (hands and knees) to pick it up, until you hopefully get to a better, heavier blood line. I have no experience with that particular light though. Hopefully I can help you track, via our phones like last year!...lol Or if need be......ROAD TRIP!!!
  16. A bunch of natural brush blinds, at least twenty, scattered over two properties. Four pop up blinds. Four ladderstands up, and four or five more in reserve. One permanent built box blind about ten feet up. Also have at least a half dozen hang on's that we haven't used in awhile. A few great spots, just sitting at the base of big hemlock trees. Plenty of options. Depending on the current feeding and bedding patterns. And at what the rut stage is.
  17. Awesome coyote medicine right there!!
  18. Either. Or.......... I'm just happy to be around to participate! "Any" deer is a bonus.
  19. My hats off to all you academy guys. Great thread! Great group of hunters. Best of luck to you all this season!
  20. Grandson and I found a couple small ones last Sunday.
  21. Very cool pic! Never seen that before.
