I'd be ashamed to post a video like this one. No, I wouldn't hunt with a 9mm. hand gun.

Right now it's my 12g. Ithaca Deerslayer 2. But I'm currently keeping my eyes open for a short carbine.

Nice pic's! Really looking forward to seeing more of em this year! We have nowhere near that much snow here. The deer are still able to easily move around. But during the bitter cold, I often reflect on how tough, these beautiful animals really are.

Nice!!! Some good eats in that bucket! Wish I were out there with ya!

We could all just agree that FSW is BETTER at EVERYTHING, than EVERYONE else, and be done with all the BS. But then, we wouldn't be nearly as entertained by all the braggadocio. Does shooting "baby bucks," doves, or anything else, make you less of a hunter, or person? I tend to not think so. To each their own. There is no doubt, that I will never measure up to the expectations of some. That's ok by me.

That was an awesome show! One of the best wildlife cinematographers ever.

IMO, any new hunting opportunity, is a good one to support. Good work, Mr. Rossi, I know he's worked hard on this for years now. No matter if one plans to hunt morning doves or not. Giving another hunter an opportunity to do something they enjoy, is never a bad thing. They are plentiful here in the capital region.

You sure this isn't fake media advertising?

Are women's hunting jackets cut differently than men's?
grampy replied to goosifer's topic in Deals, Coupons and Specials
I asked my resident womens clothes expert, my wife. She says that women's clothes are usually cut for a woman. But perhaps if ya buy a larger size it just might fit. Try it on and if it fits, go with it! And ya know, real men can wear pink! -
Gotta have two of em. One for me, one for my grandson. They are so awesome! PM sent.

Wannigan (storage or camp box)
grampy replied to Robin's topic in DIY - Do It Yourself, tutorials and videos
Another great, enjoyable post Robin. Seeing how nice the wannigan you made for your grandson, and the one you use for your back country trips, are so nice, and useful. I want to give it a go too. Thanks! I love the musical scores in your videos. Where do you get them? -
Just came in from snowblowing the drifts at the end of our driveway. Wind is still blowing pretty hard. -6 no idea what the wind chill is. But I can attest that it's cold!

We usually start our predator hunting right after Christmas. But due to below zero wind chills, and very cold temps, we have not yet been out. Maybe I'm getting soft as I age. But we like to hunt for the experience, and enjoyment of calling in the predators we hunt. With this extreme cold, it just is not enjoyable for me to venture out. Looking forward to getting out after the weather moderates just a bit. Anyone else getting out after them? Anyone else saying it's just not fun to go out in these conditions? I do know this weather makes for some hungry coyotes and foxes. And could possibly be more conducive for hunting. But is it worth it? What'a ya think?

He gets a pass from me too. He made #1 on the hit list because of his age and headgear. If he is really busted up, like main beam broken, or has dropped his antlers, I just hope to hunt him next year. He won this year, if I haven't already killed him. If meat is what I want, I'll shoot a nice fat doe instead.

Welcome! I too am a capital region hunter. Compared to 20 years ago, some of the larger public lands in this area, are really not too crowded. And I've been successful hunting them, from time to time. I don't know of any lease options available in the Albany hilltowns. But if you PM me, I can probably steer you to some productive and not overly crowded public land. Lots of farms around these parts too. Perhaps you and your daughter could knock on a few doors? Perhaps, I could even give you and her, a hunt on our property.

Bet those ones you couldn't unlock have the good pictures on em!..............

Ok who’s buying mega millions or power ball tickets ?
grampy replied to rob-c's topic in General Chit Chat
Think I'll just take the money I would spend on tickets, and go get my truck washed. -
Bill, wishing you a speedy and full recovery from your surgery. Prayers and good vibes are being sent your way. The Doc's and the PT people will work with you, and let you know what you can do, and when. Don't rush it! You have almost ten months to get ready. A lighter draw weight will help. I shoot just over 50lbs now, and killed a buck last fall after some shoulder surgery in May. In time, after this repair job, you will feel 'pert as a ruttin buck'! Good luck sir.

Happy Birthday! Hope you have a wonderful day sir!
