  1. Maybe trying a different location will bring you more "luck"?
  2. I heard about that guy! He lives in WNY, is one heck of a photographer, hunter, all around shed rangler and turned out pretty good, by all acounts!
  3. You got the atta boy award today! So darned cool!
  4. I had one too, years ago. Lots of fun! Easy to do wheelies. But you do really have to be careful with them. If ya corner too quick they can be a lot more tippy than a four wheeler. And you gotta make sure your feet don't come off the pegs and get run over by the back tires. Saw that happen once and it wasn't pretty. Just use common sense and he will be fine. Course at 19 common sense was in short supply for me.
  5. Great idea! I know I could use more room and less clutter in my garage.
  6. Our local turkey population is VERY slowly increasing. And the few toms that are around are mostly silent this year. Kinda goes along with what most everyone else is seeing and hearing.
  7. A labor of love and it shows! Looks so nice! You should be very proud of the results. Now THAT is a cool hunting rig!
  8. I have killed quite a few turkeys over the years. And at one time was really into it. But turkey has never been one of my favorite wild game meat. Just ok for me. At this stage I like to call them more than kill them. Getting one in front of my grandson is my main motivation now. But he is playing on two baseball teams, (regular LL and travel) with almost 70 games to be played, plus practice, finding the time to get him out there is hard. And he's not really into getting up at 4:15, hunting until 8:30 running home to be at the field by 9:30 and have a double header. I have been out once to call for my buddy this year. Close, but no turkey killed. Plus getting the bass boat ready is the main focus for me right now!
  9. Turkey hunting is a pastime. Deer hunting is a passion. For me.
  10. Great pic's! Really cool birds! It's so neat to watch them hunt.
  11. I love hearing the barred owls calling back and forth! One of my favorite sounds of the woods! They are just such awesomely cool birds
  12. It's taken just about five years, but I've lost a total of 100 pounds even. I'm 6'1" and at my heaviest weighed just shy of 300 pounds. Weighed myself last night at 195 pounds. That is after a vacatiom in Maine eating very well, but not real healthy! The biggest change for me was cutting out as much sugar (I'm diabetic ) as possible and eating less food. That's it. But I stay very active too, walking in the woods, swimming, playing ball with my grandsons, snowshoeing in the winter, using the push mower more than I need to. It all adds up. Grow, there were many times I would hit a plateau and seemed like I wasn't getting anywhere. Just keep at it! I'll be 59 soon and if I can do it anyone can! Hoping you become a big loser!!!.......in weight of course.
  13. Happy Birthday! Hope your day is filled with nothin but the good stuff!
  14. Back from Maine. Going to grandsons baseball game this morning. Hoping we can get out hunting tomorrow morning.
  15. I think I might have kissed "her" one lonely night, back in the day.
  16. No bashing from me either. Simply put, thats hunting! In another thread, the question was asked, "have you missed"? All the experienced hunters commented that if you haven't missed, you haven't shot at a lot of birds. Sure, it doesn't make it any easier to swallow, when it happens. But in my years of hunting, I've learned more from my mistakes, than successes. Best of luck to you Belo, when you get back out there!
  17. Great shows but Last Alaskens is my new favorite.
  18. For me it's keep it as simple as possible. My set up is strictly for hunting, and the whisker biscuit has been flawless for the better part of 20 years. If I were a target shooter, the drop away is the way to go. But when a shooter deer is within my range, the WB is one less thing I have to worry about.
  19. As we all know, things can change in an instant! You go through hours and days of boredom, for that one intense moment! Keep at em!
  20. I always enjoyed your posts. And I am sure you gave more brightness to this site than you know. It seems the world we live in now has a certain percentage of people who are quick to criticize and have no empathy for others. Perhaps to cover up their own shortcomings, wich are usually numerous. Hope you reconsider and stay or come back after a period of time. Until then, shoot straight, and keep your top nott.
  21. I'm up in Maine. No gobbles this morning.
  22. Pretty cool music with the uke's! And a darn good movie, one of my favorites!
