Dan is a great guy! But surprised he didn't barter those calls down at Mabels????
-
Same spot. A day later. Very similar looking deer and age class. I say the same deer.
-
Nice looking boots! Go get some mud on em!
-
If there is thick, secluded bedding, that humans do not intrude upon, the deer will find and use it, all on their own.

Big bucks that wear body armor???
-
I just can't make them out in the picture, from my phone. But yes that is very cool!

Am I missing something?

Crap.........I knew I should have horded survival lint when I had the opportunity. Could have made a significant profit on my investment, now that operations have shut down. There goes my early retirement........

I'm fortunate to have over 750 acres of hunting property available (not including bordering state land). And I don't actually" need" to live there. It is my get away! And winters are so much worse "up on the hill"!! I spent a good portion of my life up there, so I know all too well.

Good for you Jerry! Much deserved, and you will find all kinds of cool stuff to do with YOUR time!!! I'll be 64 in May. Retirement is not too far off for me now. Wife and I just recently decided to downsize, and find a smaller place, that will be easier to keep up with. So we are currently house hunting for our forever home. We no longer need or want a large 4 bedroom home. Need something my wife can manage, if something should happen to me. Though I'm not planning to go anywhere soon! Just need to stay a short drive from the farm property and my life long hunting partner, As I plan to spent a lot of time there. He retired last year. And we have so many plans! I still love my job, and will miss working with the kids and staff here. But I will take my 20 years on this job, and be happy to move on. Been working since I was 17, never once collected unemployment. Looking forward to a different kind of work in a year or two.

Nice to just get out! A good time I'm sure. How much ya want for that drill?

Me too from Altamont.

I'd really love to hear the whole story, beginning to end of this buck, and how the "hunter- member" was able to seal the deal. No doubt there is a fantastic story here! I hope that he, or she, will share with us, what no doubt is an epic string of hunts!!!!

A true monarch of the woods! What an amazing buck!!! And you did him up amazingly Jeremy, with a world class mount to match him! Before I hang up my hunting hat, I hope to kill one more BIG buck to bring him to you! Came so close last year! Your work is spectacular!

Maybe some hope

Trouble with the last King Andy elections, was a relative no name candidate was run against him by the republicans. If someone with the state wide name recognition of Elise Stefanic, were to declare early enough, and got the financial backing necessary. She could very well induce enough upstate support, to have voters get out and actually vote!! If ever there was a good time to overthrow the dictatorship of Cuomo it is now! Suffice to say, his ambition to become POTUS is now down the crapper, with this so called "oversight"........ So all is not lost. -
Maybe some hope

Welcome! Happy that you finally decided to join us! Looking forward to hearing more from ya. You are going to love every second hunting with your son! Wishing you both a lifetime of successful, and fun hunts together. Along with all the outdoors adventures to come! What part of the state are you in? -
I like to know what bucks may be using our property. I don't like putting the cams in hard to get to places. Usually easy access points, that both we and the deer use, to cut down on disturbance. Never set one in, or too close to a bedding area. I've killed decent bucks for a long time before using a camera. And I've killed some while using camera's. But I do think we are much more efficient with the times, on where, and when we hunt now.
-
Your work is absolutely amazing!!! Great buck too!!
-
I'm with ya on this one! The moment that big ten point squats to pee, I'm sending it! And using a 4-H DMP! "He identified as a doe officer"!!!

Now this only applies if you still have any tags left? Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. Also, depends on the weather for me. I used to go in any weather conditions. But single digit temps, with a below zero wind chill, are not fun for me anymore. But there are times during this period, where we'd be out small game hunting during some pretty nice weather! So any added time to hunt deer is good time! I'm certain that at some point we will take advantage! Guess I better dust off the old TC Thunderhawk Shadow!!!!
