  1. I like to know what bucks may be using our property. I don't like putting the cams in hard to get to places. Usually easy access points, that both we and the deer use, to cut down on disturbance. Never set one in, or too close to a bedding area. I've killed decent bucks for a long time before using a camera. And I've killed some while using camera's. But I do think we are much more efficient with the times, on where, and when we hunt now.
  2. Your work is absolutely amazing!!! Great buck too!!
  3. I'm with ya on this one! The moment that big ten point squats to pee, I'm sending it! And using a 4-H DMP! "He identified as a doe officer"!!!
  4. Now this only applies if you still have any tags left? Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. Also, depends on the weather for me. I used to go in any weather conditions. But single digit temps, with a below zero wind chill, are not fun for me anymore. But there are times during this period, where we'd be out small game hunting during some pretty nice weather! So any added time to hunt deer is good time! I'm certain that at some point we will take advantage! Guess I better dust off the old TC Thunderhawk Shadow!!!!

    Big tiger musky.

I have caught a few Tiger Muskie's around the thirtyfive inch mark on the Mohawk River. Between Locks 7 and 8 on the weed flats, close to deeper channel water. A blast to catch! And most times I caught one, I was bass fishing with a white, half ounce, willow blade, spinnerbait.
  6. You definitely want to keep bucks like him coming around! And just cutting the grass will help with that. I've found too, that sometimes mowed areas close to heavy cover, get more daylight deer movement than our big food plots.
  7. We have in addition to dedicated food plots, just run the brush hog, making trails, and mowing near stand sets. I can tell you that the new grass from cutting is VERY attractive to deer! Even into gun season.
  8. They bring so much joy into our lives. And it hurts so much to let them go. RIP Bleu
  9. The Sako, Bavarian Moog has in his gun safe! I've actually held and ogled this beauty, and it's the sister to the Classic I got from him a few years ago.
  10. If you can look down the bore of a fixed position rifle, you can get pretty close too, when sighting in with optics.
  11. There........fixed it for ya. Same argument different topic.
  12. Usually good enough to get you on paper at 100 yards. Then you can fine tune from there.

  20. The 'BIG WIN' for you and your wife Biz, was coming home with your beautiful little girl on Sunday night. Praying for a full, and speedy recovery.
  21. Hoping for the best with Max. I like dogs better than most people!
  22. When the boys were little, we would always take them to Santa's Workshop just outside Lake Placid. Also, just walking through town and enjoying the shops and eateries was always fun. But not sure how all that is now, due to Covid-19 restrictions. Pretty sure there will be some ice fishers out on the lake. You could always walk out to see what they are catching? I had an aunt who lived up there, and always enjoyed visiting the area.
  23. Can't see the head on the one, but do see the tail. Moral of the story.........don't lose your head over a piece of tail.
