  1. Skid marks on the road and in his shorts!
  2. Do not miss a nice 10pt at 35 yds with the bow like I did this past season. Shoot my bow every day during the summer and fall Add one stand on the top of the mountain where the nuts are plenty.
  3. Ill be there for the next gathering. Would be great to meet the local crew! Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  4. I am in Alden now also... moved here 6 months ago. On Broadway. Should have a meet and greet....
  5. Me too but I will be back up here in WNY for hunting season.
  6. I shoot them and have never had a problem. I am not the greatest archer by far, but 35 yds and in I can make a kill shot on my 3d targets all day long. I have also used similar CE "flavors" can't remember the name of them offhand, ( not the maximas) and did not have the need to re-sight the bow from flavor to flavor. Personally, I like them because they work well and they do not break the bank. I killed two deer last season, 8pt buck at 20 yds, double lunger and a nice doe at 37 yds, both broadside shots. The doe was supposed to be a double lung shot as I aimed but it wound up being a perfect heart shot instead. (Ill take it!) My PSE Stinger is set at 50lbs. Whisker biscuit rest, 30 inch draw. I use the Cabell's brand 100gr fixed broadheads..ST3 . I am going to get a good drop away rest and start cutting about 1/2 inch off the shafts. Trying to get better!
  7. can you try to punch it out from the other direction? At least enough to break it loose. That may help. I had one break years ago that was a true bastard to get out, like yours. Just keep working it and it will come out. Since then, I dont use shear bolts anymore. I use a stainless bolt with a nylon lock nut because when it breaks, it snaps off clean. One hit with the punch and its out. Propane heat will not hurt but it is not hot enough to really do a lot. Direct the heat on the shaft, not the bolt because the shaft is what needs to expand to allow the pin to push through.
  8. Lost the angel so last years 8 PT seems to work fine....
  9. That looks great. Do you keep these refrigerated after or are the cured?
  10. I butchered two last night that have been hanging for 8 days. They both were not frozen but not far from 32 degrees. These would have been fine to put off a few mare days.
  11. I use lacross 2000 gram. Best boots I have ever owned. My feet stay warm even in single digits. Pricey, but you get what you pay for
  12. Way to go! I was fortunate Monday late afternoon wit a big fat doe also! Ill post pics when i get baxk in town. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  13. Speedy recovery... Prayers sent
  14. I butcher my own and would be happy to give them to you. We are butchering at my SIL's place this year in Cheektowaga near the airport. Ill keep you posted.
  15. Congrats to you! That's a fine eating doe for sure and I am jealous! My first two bow kills were last year and I can still feel the thrill and hear the arrows hitting... ill never forget the sound. This season, I am very disappointed with my shooting performance and will eat my tag.
  16. Meat! Love being outside and I love using my hunting gear. I always try to learn more about hunting and the species I hunt.
  17. LOL... I just did.. over and over !
