LOL Thanks. They are the factory ones. Eventually they are gonna go in favor of either small individual ones for each door or power fold down running boards. Im getting too old to jump up into a lifted truck these days.

Since I have my 2010 Ram paid off, Ive been starting to turn it into my toy. It is still a work in progress, as I have to undo all of the damage done by the salt, the original owner and a bad driver or two over the last 7 years. She wont be seeing any more winters unless its absolutely necessary from here on out. So far I have a Zone 6" lift in the front/5" in the rear, with Bilstein adjustable shocks set at 2.8" above factory in the front and Fox Nitro shocks in the rear, 35x12.50 Nitto Trail Grapplers on KMC X D Riot 20x12 wheels, a Flowmaster exhaust, an 1100 Watt sound system and some other misc stuff thrown on there. New front fenders are next, then next year will be a bunch more goodies including a Detroit locker, 4.56 gears, engine tuner, etc.

In this area, there wont be much choice, at least for a while. Field & Stream/Dicks will be pretty much the only game in town until Bass Pro in Victor gets built. Sure, Runnings is around, but their prices on most things just plain suck. The only time I go there is when the local Tractor Supply is out of something I need, or if I dont have any other choice. Gander doesnt usually have what I need and their prices are crappy most of the time, but at least it was some type of competition.

Most recoil in any gun you've shot ?

Plain old lead slugs are fine through a choked barrel. Used my 20ga modified choke barrel on my Mossberg 500 with them for years. I also ran Lightfields through it for a few years before I switched to a rifled barrel and sabots. -

I think the worst one Ive owned was my Rem 870 12 ga deer gun loaded up with 3 inch Hornady SSTs. It was very accurate, but I hated shooting it. Ive shot a couple of 300s that werent much fun either. -
Transoms are not that hard to replace in those. $1000 would be an extreme lowball offer. Take a peek at what aluminum boats are going for. I was lucky to find a bare hull on a trailer for what I paid. A 16 foot utility boat with a 25 to 30hp motor and trailer is in the 1500 to 2000 range around here for anything newer than 1990s.

Blue book for that, if its the 17 foot, is around 3000 to 3500 depending on condition. Id subtract a few hundred for the broken axle, and a few more to cover anything thats broken, usage, condition, etc and youre looking at around $2500 IF the engine runs, electrical all works, etc.

LMAO. From what Ive been reading, the heritage breeds generally dont get to their full size until their second year, so I am not going to eat any this year. I also want to breed them, so I need to let them all live this year. I have either 2 or 3 toms and 3 or 4 hens, which should make for egg and poults next year. Then once I see what I get out of that, I can kill some of the second year birds for meat, and let the poults grow and breed, and so on and so forth. Hopefully Ill end up with enough poults to sell a few of them as well.

The kids have named some of ours. Snowball is our little white Bantam hen Penny is our Bantam rooster. (Haley thought it was going to be a hen) Penguin is our Australop rooster. Mystery is our White Silkie. Storm is our Plymouth Rock. Chipmunk is an unknown breed chick. Brownie is another unknown breed chick. No names for any turkeys yet lol.

I got into chickens and turkeys this year. I currently have 21 chickens, mostly Rhode Island Reds, with a few Bantams, some Australops, a Plymouth Rock and a White Silkie. Two more chicks from my girlfriends daughter's school project were added, no idea what they are. I also have 4 Narragansett and 2 Royal Palm turkeys. I got the first group of chicks a couple of months ago, and the Narragansetts a week or so after them. The second group of chicks and Royal Palms are a few weeks old now. So far I have 2 roosters, a Bantam and an Australop, which have started crowing. One of my Narragansett turkeys is definately a tom and has started strutting and gobbling, a second one has started strutting, so I think that one is also a tom. He hasnt started gobbling yet though.

Shoot, I was gonna ask how much you wanted for it. My daughter would have loved it.

Sounds good, maybe you can stop out, and talk about it over a couple of pops one of these days.

Haha if you only knew. Culver knows how I roll with getting deals on stuff most of the time.

And therein lies the problem. Im too picky about the work I do. I think the biggest challenge is really going to be figuring out how to put the floor in it. I know Ill have to build some stringers to support it, I just havent figured out exactly how to make them. The paint work will be easy, thats right up my alley.

You dont say.....

Ill give you $47.51 if you throw in the arrow. I know theres sentimental attachment there, but there comes a point where you just have to let things go. Id love to have it in my shop.....errr I mean my collection.

Ive been looking around for a few months for a small 14 to 16 foot aluminum boat, as I acquired a 10hp Honda 4 stroke motor somewhat recently. I wanted to have something that I could take out on Hemlock and Canadice lakes, which both require 10hp or less, and go fishing with the kids or bring out my father. So last week I stumbled upon someone giving away a trailer that had a 10 foot wooden rowboat on it. I really just wanted the trailer, and planned to either use the tiny boat in our pond, or just throw it on the bonfire sometime. I talked to the guy about it and told him I would bring my flat bed trailer the next day and he would give me the address that morning. That morning came around and I didnt hear back from him, so I was checking out Craigslist again and ran across a guy with a 16 foot aluminum boat on a trailer that he was asking $500 for. The boat had no seats in it, which was perfect to me, because there would be nothing in the way of designing the layout how I want it. I texted him with an offer, which he accepted, so I headed out and met him at his place after work. We loaded the whole deal up on my flatbed and I towed her home. This weekend I plan to start the project by stripping the 4 layers of various paint jobs off of the hull to get it back down to bare metal. I will then wire wheel around all of the rivets and check them all to make sure none are loose. After that will come the leak test, where I put the boat in the pond for a few hours to see if any seams leak so that I can take care of those issues before I spray her down with some self etching primer and a few good coats of silver and maroon paint. Once the bottom paint work is done, Ill get her back on the trailer and start installing a flat wood floor, raised fishing deck in the front, seats and brackets for gas tanks and batteries. My buddy has an older trolling motor and an extra fish finder that I can have, so those will get wired up, along with lights, and she should be good to go. Im really looking forward to having a little boat to get the kids out on the water with. Should be lots of fun. Ill post pics and whatnot of the progress so those that are interested can follow along. Heres a couple of pics of what Im starting with.

Camping World buys Gander Mountain

Gander sucks even as the doors close. Not too shocking. Did you notice what discount they had on camping gear by chance? it was 10% before. -

Still? I just got an email yesterday that they were bumping everything up to an additional discount. Up to 40% off is what the email said. -
Looks like Ill be solo the next 2 weekends, as my daughter wont be able to go out with me. I am going to go see if I cant bag one this year. Maybe Ill take Evan with me if his little butt will get up early enough.
