Wow guys, Jealousy much? If you think these guys own the equipment, land, buildings, etc that they do on $300k/year, youre smoking your breakfast. Farming, when done right can bring in a healthy paycheck on its own. Managing farms and land for others brings in money, Im sure they do a bit of consulting, another source of income, then the endorsements and what they make off of their marketable products....Im sure the list goes on...

Over the actual weekend, only 1 deer hit the ground on the two farms I hunt. Between last Tuesday and Friday there were 8 more.

I hunted all last week and was getting worn down, even though I was killing deer. I took this weekend off and spent the time with my kids at home. Now I have to work all week. The break will have my head back in the game this weekend. Sometimes its good to just take a break from it.

Yep. I posted a series of the buck I shot last week in an all out brawl with another buck just last week. Just because the rut has already peaked, doesnt mean the testosterone levels have gone down yet. There will be another secondary rut coming up soon. Scrapes may start opening up again.

I seal mine in vaccum bags and label with what it is, the date and sex of the deer. My tags all stay on a magnetic clip on the outside of the freezer.

SSTs or Shockwaves are what I use. Same bullets. I have shot deer from 30 to 180 yards with 70gr by vol of BH209 with great results.

In my area, the rut seemed to go off at around the same time it does every year. The little guys were getting ramped up at the tail end of October, the big guys started chasing in early November, but really got into it the last week of bow season, with it peaking around the 13th or 14th and trailing off for the most part, the first week of gun season. Since then, there has been some scent checking and such, waiting for the does to go into the second round of estrous. I have come up with this based on field sightings, trail camera activity at scrapes, sightings from the road and local road kills.

I have 4 8h DMPs, 2 of which I could sign over. I have a crap load of deer in the freezer already and I wont be using all of the permits. PM me if youd like to take one of them.

He didnt call hawks pests, he described them as fawna that people are living with close by, on a more frequent basis.

Ive seen a ton of them this year.

Ill be out looking to fill doe tags. The weekend after that i will be out again with the front stuffer looking for my target buck again.

I did it this year. One doe with the bow, two does with a slug gun and my buck with the muzzleloader. Good luck!
