  1. Rush Outdoors is another show that is NY based and can be viewed on public TV. https://www.rushoutdoors.com/
  2. Oh yeah! Once they get stiffened up there is more tearing of flesh.
  3. Sooo many great memories. One that stands out was a time where I arrowed a deer on my property. I saw the doe go down. I called the house and had my kids come out. I showed them the arrow and started them on the blood trail. They found the deer. We prayed together over the deer. They helped me gut the deer. They helped me drag out the deer. They helped me hang, skin and butcher the deer. Took me a 1/2 hour just to gut it because I took my time and answered all of their questions. It's a day I will treasure forever.
  4. Ok school me here old timers. Do mechanical broadheads go back 24 years? I would like to see the recovery rates of mechanical heads over the last 10 years.
  5. Holy Hyjack Batman! I'm not going to join in the debate. Sent you a PM.
  6. Thanks for sharing this link. I've been typing out all the details of that study on posts like this. Now I can just share the link.
  7. Go to www.sausagemaking .org they have a forum there and I'm sure they can answer your question better than I.
  8. Read this paragraph http://www.sausagemaker.com/naturalcasings.aspx
  9. That's amazing! I'll bet he spread plenty of those fine genetics for years. A friend of mine down near NYC arrowed a 4.5 year old crotch horn.
  10. My 12 year old daughter shoots a Browning BLR Lightning in .243 with no problem.
  11. And from what I'm told, you will no longer get a lifetime licence card. It will be printed on the bottom of your drivers licence. Be prepared to be asked by every LEO who pulls you over, if you have a gun.
  12. Congratulations sportsmen, Emperor Andy has a new way to track gun owners!
  13. Maybe its a convertable and the top keeps popping up!
  14. Another good filler is plastic grocery bags and it allows for easier arrow removal that clothes.
  15. Wow! I read that article just the other day. Very cool and congratulations!
  16. Here ya go http://www.winchester.com/library/news/Pages/s22lrt-recall.aspx
  17. Looks good Joe. Didn't you have a range in your cellar? I remember you posting some pictures.
  18. When we first built the camp in 2000 we had deer everywhere. Everyone saw deer on at least opening day. Now I can go an entire N. Tier rifle season and not even see a doe unless we put on drives. I would love to know what happened or what changed.
  19. Years ago Marlin made the Marauder. About the closest you will get to a scout rifle. It was a great rifle and highly sought after by collectors (and me).
  20. I hunt in 6C. Most of the guys around me hunt the trails where the bears come to and from the corn fields. I personally to go out and hunt for bears but I did try it once about 8 years ago. It was quite comical. I used this scent during the early season http://awayhunting.com/shop/scent-web-vanilla-acorn/ The first morning out I heard something walking up behind me softly. I knew it wasn't a deer. Everyone says that bears make little noise when they walk and my adrenaline went through the roof. I ever so slowly turned around, expecting to see the mighty bruin. And there he was, the biggest boar coon you ever saw. My adrenaline released so hard that I laughed out loud and scared the coon away. Still to this day, it's the closest I've ever been to a bear in the woods.
  21. I've had friends who have had it done. Stock up on bags of frozen peas.
  22. Yep! We have a camp at Talcville, our property borders the Firefalls. Nice place but very little deer.
