Got up this morning and there is a frost advisory for Herkimer county!!!! Wow that seems early. But love the cool weather, fall feel today for sure. Will be outside and hear geese go over and it's gonna make me grab the bow for some practice.

I drove to work this morning with the windows down and it was chilly and I did not put them up! Nice to be cool again.

Indians also didn't have compound bows and trail cams but we all use those. The good ole days aren't always the best. If there is some new equipment that is affordable and seems to make sense why not try it. It certainly isn't as important as playing the wind and being in the right spot at the right time and knowing how to hunt etc... But when that deer comes in the downwind side might offer you a shot you might not have had. These things for scent control are a very small part of any success but can't see where they hurt. Don't be afraid to try something that is different. And Indians didn't exactly hunt like we do. No borders , horseback, driving animals over cliffs etc. That was to survive and get meat any way you could every day . Its not a comparison. But hunt the way you like. If a person doesn't like to use new techniques it's up to them. But I can't be the old man on the porch that others do. And remember, as soon as the Indians got ahold of a rifle they sure didn't go back to a stick and string. Lol. I certainly don't use all the new stuff out there but always find it interesting and am open to checking it out. And the Indians would've lived a lot better if they had our hunting stuff now.

My hunting buddy just got the ok to hunt some property across the road from his house. Owner seems like a real nice fella. So he's got some new dirt and is excited for sure. Got permission yesterday and getting a new stand as soon as runnings opens this morn. He justy sent me a text that there was a buck and a doe out in the field this morning - Its a sign! Glad he got a new spot to go- those are tough to come by. Hell im excited for him! anyone excited for some new hunting spots this year?

Left-handed Rem 700 .270?
Robhuntandfish replied to left field's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Can buy a new one for that price and pick out your own glass. Or even look at a savage with scope for a lot less. Unless that's the one your really looking for seems a bit much to me. https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/remington-700-sps-270-win-bolt-action-rifle-left-handed
