Witty
Not my cup if tea, nor do I agree with them being allowed during archery season but who am I to say you can't or shouldn't hunt with a certain type of weapon. Good luck to those who have them or want to hunt with them.

apoallo
I'm not here to argue I just have a different opinion. Taking the outlined and changing it to suit your opinions is fine and no one can tell you that your wrong for having that opinion however, that being said the mere fact that you just couldnt resist at taking a jab at others that are in support . and by jab I mean letting it be known that you took the outlined letter and changed it then posting that your changed it and sent to those email addresses. Is looking for an argument. this thread was for those who wished to send a letter of support and you are free to do what you like with it as well as others are but posting that you will send to oppose is for the sake of argueing...
Shedder
Some day he may find him/herself sitting at home during bow season unable to use standard archery gear...wishing to be out there so bad. No this is NY and because you can still blow throu a straw...We can't allow you to use a crossbow to enjoy your passion once again!??? Don't be so quick and narrow minded members of the anti crossbow revolution. You are closer than you think to being forced to give up your passion, your recreation, your love of bowhunting! a simple slip, fall, twist or seemingly harmless illness can put you in my shoes...From enjoying the ups and downs of hunting with bow and arrow anywhere I could find public land and a tag to the realization that without the use of a crossbow I may never have that opportunity ever again! This tiny little organization such as the NY Bowhunters wants to take that away from me? Why? Thats your deer? Its your land I'll be hunting? I now hold my bow along the horizon instead of along the Axis poles? I release my broadhead with a trigger? Really? No its about greed plain and simple! Again the narrow mindedness of you is going to hurt your season in the long run...Crossbows will become law and when they do my fellow bowhunters you can accept it and share the woods with your fellow bowman or you can fight it and in the end you lose!! There are boatloads of bowhunters with situations like mine being forced every year to step away from hunting. Just look at the license rates they surly are not climbing! Either through aging or injuries and the crossbow is the obvious choice to spark a dwindling flame. Getting my fellow hunters back out into the woods! If you think you are going to take away my love of the outdoors and hunting with a bow...crossbow you are wrong! I am a bow hunter and I need to hunt with a crossbow! Now let me and my fellow crossbow hunters HUNT!!! Matt OP, NY
jjb4900
at the very least they should change the law as to what allows a person to use a crossbow.....the way it is now, you more or less have to be blowing in a straw before they'll grant u a permit....ridiculous. I agree 100%....I couldn't bowhunt last year due to my disabling side affects of cancer, and won't be able to this year cause the only way I can bowhunt is with a crossbow. Like I said in earlier post, there is a group of archery hunters that are happy as hell that fellow hunters who are disabled and can only use crossbows to archery hunt, won't be able to cause the politicians in Albany refuse to pass crossbow bill. Yes, those hunters are happy as hell that the disabled won't be able to hunt during the archery season.
