growalot
I Don't use recipes...That said, yellow cooking onions...I like a bold taste but sweet. So they are slowly caramelized in butter and olive oil.Oil keeps butter from Browning.I use cast iron pans. To this I add slaved garlic cloves. Then I transfer to a stock pot and add the 2 bay leaf, semi dry wine and half and half of chicken and beef stock, boxed or can..to avoid saltiness..simmer slowly an hour

growalot
Yes slaved Garlic...I make them work very hard...unfortunate for others around me...long hours as well ...as opposed to the shaved garlic I use. PS.. Almost forgot....a few dashes of Worchester(?sp) sauce in that recipe... Edited January 11, 2016 by growalot

Pygmy
BEAN SOUP..!! I have had it simmering all morning with a nice meaty ham bone, plus some onions, pressed home grown garlic, bay leaf, rosemary, finely diced carrots, and of course some coarse ground black pepper..The Mermaid is stopping at Wegman's Bakery in Corning to pick up a nice fresh loaf of fresh crusty bread to go with it. Saturday I am invited to a friend's house for a game dinner..I'll be making Lawdwaz's killer venison oven stew as my contribution.

Fletch
I'm grilling some chicken breasts tonight to go with wedge salads. The best part is we are in the middle of a big ole snowstorm. Supposed to have 2 feet by tomorrow evening. My grill is always shoveled out unlike the driveway!! lol
