Who's heading out? Who wishes they were? Any thoughts and comments? Good luck to those going a field. Please practice safety first. Enjoy and take a good look around you, for what nature has to offer. Edited September 30, 2014 by landtracdeerhunter
Lawdwaz
I don't think I'll get out at all to my main area for a couple weeks. Maybe I can hit East Aurora next week but certainly not sooner. Too much going on now. One thing guys have to remember, don't sweat it about HAVING to be out now or even in the next few weeks; the good stuff won't be here until the 25th. That's when LOVE is in the air.......

thphm
Just a reminder.. Coyote season doesn't open til sun up tomorrow morning. Not at midnight tonight! ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ This is a good case where the NYSDEC hunting rules stink as far as No fire arms when out bow hunting, And this has happened to me in the past, Out posted near a well used trail and a yote comes walking past about 50 yards, too far ( I would not try ) for a clean shot with the bow but if I had a rifle or shot gun I would not hesitate to take a shot. Four Season Whitetail's
I don't think I'll get out at all to my main area for a couple weeks. Yes Sir, So many people ruin their chances at great bucks during bow season by hunting good spots when the time is not right. Yes some will get it right and run into a good buck early but i would say most hunters educate the bigger deer early and set them on guard way to fast. growalot
You bet!...... I will be at a Dr appt. today, hunt tomorrow, then surgeons appt., then hunt until I'm told I can't. I will hit the stands that have had the buck sightings in my busiest areas. Right now the woods are very noisy with fallen dry leafs...wont clear them until a few more fall...Can hardly wait for the winds and rains to quiet things down for the walks in....Those bigger buck apparently don't mind the "intrusion" for they are on cams mid day to mid afternoon...no night pics...go figure Still waiting on that Gator delivery....saw it the other day still on the lot ...Hoping it shows today. Good Luck to everyone ...may your arrows fly true....PS dbl check for any hard to see tips of branches...still kicking my self from last years deflection Good thing...he's even BIGGER this year! blackradio
I will be out Friday first half of the day. I have a lot of deer on one particular cam in a pinch point, most of the activity is between 7:30 to 10:30 with a few decent bucks.

Cabin Fever
Going out, but don't have any expectations of killing a deer. Mainly, doing it to relax, enjoy the view, and to celebrate the season kick-off. Would rather hold off on filling any doe tags, until it's cooler, and I don't need to feel so "rushed" to get one cut up and in the freezer. (No electricity at camp, butcher myself, and would prefer to leave it hang a day or so.) I was on the fence about whether to take the opener off or not. I was out at camp yesterday doing some last minute jobs and it was absolutely beautiful with fall colors and relaxing! It was a still afternoon, birds were chirping, and it was very relaxing just watching the leaves falling, hearing them ticking off other leaves on their way down, as they slowly drifted to the ground. Made up my mind. that mentally, I need a day off to de-stress and unwind, and I know just the place to do it! Taking 3 days vacation off every week from Oct. 1st - Dec. 1st. (Can probably get use to working 2 days/wk! LOL) Plus, camp is right on my way home, so even if I do work, I get out early enough that I can hunt every afternoon/evening if I wanted to. Good luck, but most of all, BE SAFE everyone! Do yourself, your family, and friends a favor and PLEASE USE THOSE SAFETY HARNESSES!!!! ApexerER
Won't be out tomorrow. I usually take it off just because I can't wait to get in the woods. This year my wife is traveling for work and I have to get my daughter on and off the bus. I could probably hunt 10-2:30 but I feel like that would be a complete waste of time. I will be out Sunday morning.....

PREDATE
OMG, that's when you give a little lip squeak or a fawn distress. Who knows, that fawn distress could bring in a fatty doe!
