Stopped into Walmart to pick up hunting license and noticed a little sheet hanging up on side of cooler with gun prices. After further inspection it was a huge sale with guns marked down up to 60% off! I ended up getting the Savage 220 20 gauge for $268 including tax. That was a 50% savings.

Everything I've heard about the Savage 220 20 gauge, says it's a real tack driver! Great deal on it too!

I have an H&R slug hunter in 20ga that's a tack driver but for that price I'd gladly buy one of those as well. Do you think they would do an ffl transfer?

Excellent deal!! congrats!! My brother in law and his father hunt with the 220. They get rifle groups at 200 yards with the Hornady SST's. They haven't taken deer at that range but it's doable.

I'm pretty sure it was all walmarts. There was a guy there who wanted a different gun and they called and reserved it for him at that price at another store.

Walmart definitely dictates more of that compared to other stores.  you even need a card versus looking up the number.  if I'm out and about and dad remembers he needs something for the farm.  he can't call me and just have me pick it up.  need the card and I don't have one.  even then some stuff they just don't allow at all, even if it's clearly justified.

I haven't seen a gun rack in store for Walmart in years. This is funny too, I was looking around for a slug barrel for the shotgun I bought, and there was a link to Wally-World with some odd link about redirect, this item is not for sale anymore ( that was the gun, not a barrel ). Maybe they are liquidating the stock of guns they have. Who knows.

I have a brand new Savage .17 HMR (bolt action though) you can poke an eye out at 200 yards, I kid you not....

Just few years ago I bought my Remington .270 at Walmart in Springville, they were one of the few in Western New York that sold them. Give them a call to verify if they still do

Savage 220 will shoot 4-8" groups at 200 yards go with the accutip slugs- they shoot best
