growalot
Far fewer preseason buck trail cam pictures being shown this year? I know I'm not posting like last year...but that's because we are now back to our normal deer pattern(thank heavens)...Though Eddie is having a good "gotcha" cam season.... Doc
I just put out my first cam yesterday afternoon, and that may be the only one I will be putting out. Most of my hunting is done on state land, and I really don't dare put any cameras over there. I did it once and it cost me a $200 camera when it got stolen. I may set some more out down in the driveway or the thicket out front, but that usually results in the same deer being photographed over and over. Besides, I have a new Canon Rebel DSLR that needs to be played with. Maybe something that I can post will come from experimenting with that. But to answer your question .... I do agree that there seems to be a lot less posting of trail-cam pics this year. I'm not sure what that is indicating if anything. All I know is that every picture that Eddie posts is one more excuse gone for not getting a monster buck this year .... Lol.
Lawdwaz
I've only checked mine once and that was three weeks ago. Maybe next week end I'll check them again??
fasteddie
My son hasn't put out a trail cam but ..... there is a spot in Mendon where he has seen 12 bucks during a sitting in the evening . He has crop damage permits and the bucks are out but the does have been coming out too late . I know they can be shot up until 11 pm but we have never shot them in the dark hours . genesee_mohican
I had two out on state land last year, far off the road and not near a trail. Both were stolen which kinda put a damper on my trail camera sets. I do have a few out this year but just don't feel the need to post pictures online. BizCT
Last several years I had cams out since late July. This year haven't even put them out yet. Hopefully next weekend Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
landtracdeerhunter
I've side lined my cams. It was ok for a while to maybe see what is out there, but I went back to the old'en days. More thrilling, for me seeing deer in person. More exciting during season too.More of a back to traditions hunter style. Call me old fashion, LOL. I still carry a pop and shoot on my walks, scouts, and hunts and get some, for me, wonderful pics..

Mr.Zach
I checked mine this afternoon and most of the pictures on it were of bucks. These three are possibly some of the biggest bucks I've ever had on camera. One evening I was hunting woodchucks and they came out together in the hay field, I just always assumed the bigger deer were in someone else's woods. It's nice to know they are walking around mine. I'm in 9K/town of Napoli.
First-light
We are seeing a lot of buck in 8P. In fact my neighbor told me today one of the Farmers that has to use my property as an access stopped by and talked to him. All he talked about is the huge bucks he keeps on seeing. This guy could care less about deer, something is up!!!

Doc
One of the reasons that I have lost some interest in trail cams is the mortality rate on these things. I believe that right now I have more non-functioning ones than functioning ones. It's pretty discouraging to pay a whole pile of money for these things and then have them last only a season or two.

Good point Doc . I have accumulated a few "junk cameras" over the years . Tried to replace some of the internal batteries but they are soldered into to camera guts . I was liking the Primos CR Truth Cams but had 2 infested with ants . Easy to take apart . Cleaned out the webs , whatever and used the compressor to blow out the internals . Still couldn't get the cameras to turn on . Cheap Wildgame cameras may be the way to go but they don't take multi-shots . What I see on the cameras during the summer changes by fall as crops are harvested and the Deer movement changes .

TopGun270
. small buck. Haven't seen any of my hit list from last year. There should be three of them if they survived the winter. I know 3 of them were taken. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
brian.morrison91
Got this buck on my camera, but I would have to agree. Compared to last year, seems as though there isn't as many bucks during the summer appearing in front of my cameras. I run them all year. Doc
Another Geneseo buck So, he gave you several poses to show off his antlers. Even a view to show off the spread. Very accommodating buck......lol.
fasteddie
I checked 3 trail cams . One was mostly a guy with a Bush Hog making trails through a pond field and no deer on the card . Another had a spike posing for the camera . Realized when I got home that the date had reverted back to January 2010 . On the third was a nice buck . I was there last Thursday but since I visited my sister I checked the cams and walked the woods to see if they had dried up . Only saw one doe while walking . There was a snail on one camera lens and when I took the cover off of the Moultrie Lock Box , there was a toad sitting on top of the camera and it startled me . It was pretty funny . phade
Texted pic from this morning. This is about as bad as the pic quality will be - forced solely due to tower issues. Certain towers won't send the larger file size so this cam has a firmware update to send smaller size files. The difference in quality between the normal file and this one is big. Still a usable pic IMO. There, I posted something, lol.
