Successful Maine Bear Hunt

Hey guys, new to the site, wanted to share about my recent hunt, so I got back up to Maine for another black bear hunt with some good friends of mine. We spent the week hunting & fishing (mostly myself), the trip was such a great time, I encourage everyone to visit Maine for bear hunting if you haven't already, it really is a beautiful state!

My hunting experience started off kind of slow but was progressively picking up each day out in the field. My site was just getting slammed more and more every day. I decided to put out a camera the second day to see what was coming at night, with the hopes that it would come in earlier, I ended up getting some great pics on my bear. On the fourth day I went in to my site and saw that the site was hit once again, I set up in my blind knowing that that day was gonna be it ( I try to stay as confident as possible). Well, my bear came in and with a well placed shot I dropped her in her tracks,  Let me just say these animals still amaze me at how they maneuver in the woods, they are the ghost of the woods, out of 8 hunters five of us took home bears, one guy shot a beauty 450 pounder! This was my second out of state hunt and I'm getting the itch to travel more so for hunting, thanks for reading guys!

I have come close to booking a hunt a couple of times but something always comes up so I will wait. We stay near Moosehead Lake and I have a guy I trust enough up there to connect me with a guide if need be. I would rather just have some one run a bait for me and let me handle the rest. That way I can stay in a sweet cabin and save some scratch.

I have bird hunted there a couple of times now and would love to move there and live off the grid.
