2018 NFL Draft

NFL should have the draft right after the Indianapolis college player underwear Olympics....all this stuff done by end of February. Lets just re-sign EJ for the 3rd QB...lol

Bills just gonna trade up for the "stud" QB so as to not alienate the fan base. I get it, but would not do it...rather build the roster that is so deficient in so many areas.

Got to be a tough job being a GM in the NFL.

Nobody remembers what Philly gave up for Wentz cause he’s a stud.If the bills what a stud I say give what what ya have to . And I think I said the complete opposite just a day ago lol . I can’t imag having a GM job

I do not see any QB this year is close to Wentz or carr as a starter. They are all good prospects but none will be starter.. so against all NFL analyst I do not see 5 qb going in 1st round.. if Cleveland  doesnt take Barkley by far the most dominant back since Peterson but can block as well so perhaps even better. with 1st pick they will once again prove they cant draft at all..

Big Giants Fan....Hoping the Giants get a kings ransom for the 2 pick and trade out. Not in love with any of the QB's and while I think there is a chance Barkely is a generational RB no RB is going to be able to run behind the Giants OL the way it is constructed. Trade back, build the trenches and go with any other of the fine RB's.....Remember Reggie Bush was a can't miss RB that went #2 overall.

But you would have Barkley for 5 year deal.. and could build around  him.

I am not going to cry if Barkley is the pick....Another concern I have is being picked #2 overall he immediately becomes one of the highest paid RB's in the league without ever taking a NFL snap. Not a very good way to leverage a rookie contract. RB is also one of the highest injury rates in the NFL....That first 4 years is fully guaranteed.....

I am not going to make the assumption that I know more about these players than the scouts that watch them in camp. As a Giants fan, I’ll be happy with whatever they take if they feel that guy is worth it.

He is what I do think. Darnold is the real deal but that’s doesn’t mean his is a super star QB. He’s just the best and most likely to succeed of the bunch. This is a weak draft for QBs. If the Browns don’t take Darnold at #1 then my feeling is the Giants take him. All hints show that the Giants prefer him the most of all the QBs. But it can also be smoke and mirrors. The other question is what does Gettleman feel about Davis Webb? This is a weak QB draft. The Giants May feel that Webb might be close to the QBs in this draft or just as good. It seems like they feel Webb is close enough to the other QBs that they can pass on a QB unless it’s Darnold.

If Darnold goes #1 to the Browns, I think the Giants will go with Barkley. Chubb is a very strong possibility too. They also like the Offensive Guard from Notre Dame, Nelson. They’ll pass up on the other QBs. Gettleman feels that Eli Manning has a couple of years left then he’ll look to rebuild on the fly and try to contend quickly. You don’t want to waste a #2 pick for a backup QB unless you know that backup QB will definitely become a perennial pro bowler some day. QBs drafted at #2 aren’t expected to hold the clipboard that long.

Barkley is a generational talent. Yes, #2 is way too high for a RB in the backs by committee NFL but if you really want a player, would you pass them up just because you think he should go a couple of picks after you pick? You’re trying to win NFL games, not draft grades. The only knock against Barkley is that there are a couple of other RBs in this draft that are also highly regarded so the Giants can go in a different direction and still get a good RB in round 2.

If a RB is a reach at #2 then a Guard is an even further reach. Nelson is suppose to be awesome but Barkley is even better. On top of that, as deep as the RBs are this year, Guards are even deeper. Giants really need help on the offensive line but they can still get a good one in the later rounds.

That’s where Chubb comes in. Giants just traded JPP. Gettleman and Giants have always built on the trenches. Giants need a pass rusher. Chubb is the best rusher in this draft by a wide margin. Problem is, like the QBs, he is not as good as the other too DE in previous drafts.

In the end, I think Darnold goes to the Browns, Giants take Barkley, Jets take Mayfield, Browns take Chubb, Denver trades down with Buffalo and Buffalo takes Josh Rosen, Colts take Nelson.

Since when does a weak qb draft have possibly 5 or 6 go in the first round?? This draft has been discussed since Darnold and Rosen were in HS and then Baker and Allen come out of no where, and Lamar might be better than all of them

I may be wrong, but I love the leadership and balls that Mayfield has. Undersized but chip on the shoulder. However, if he goes to Jets his career goes to shit

Last memorable player from the jets was Namath ?

I would prefer the Bills only trade up if they can get Rosen or Darnold. I am not sold on any of the other guys. It would be nice to fill some holes with the 6 picks in the first 3 rounds too, but that is the mind set they have had for the last 15 years and it never really worked.

It’s a QB League now. Without a great QB, you don’t win many games

QB is useless if you can't protect him.  Not saying one is not important, but fill those trenches with studs first.

Josh Allen! Internet lives forever.

Not that I recall ever even joking around with racist material, but this is another reminder that when I was in my early teens, the internet (and cameras in everyone's pocket) was still 20+ years away.

Thank God for that!!

No worries, half the country will identify you with the vagina hat people and you'll collect 50% of the vote.

Stay away from over the hill porn stars and Russians, and you'll do just fine!

Just because they're the best of what's available doesn't put them as great QBs.  There are no Peyton Manning's or Andrew Lucks in this draft.  Guys who will step in day 1 and become a star.  Sure, maybe down the line, one of them will work their butt off and become a Kurt Warner or Drew Brees but there's just as much of a chance a guy like you said, Lamar Jackson doing that and he'll be available at the end of the 1st round.

Just look at the Giants backup QB, Davis Webb.  When Jared Goff left school, 2 backups fought for the starting job which Davis Webb won.  The person that lost?  Baker Mayfield.  Baker decided to transfer out.  So essentially the Giants 3rd round pick last year beat out the potential #1 pick this year for a starting job.  Eventually, Webb lost his job to Patrick Mahomes (the 10th pick last year who the Chiefs gave up two first round picks for).  Davis Webb then transferred and in his senior year, put up numbers just as good as the QBs in this years draft.

I know not everyone feels the same way but my strategy is if you have a shot at the next Peyton Manning, you take it.  But if you have a shot at the next Ryan Tannerhill or Joe Flacco...it's better to hit the reset button and try again next year because Joe Flacco will make sure you're stuck in mediocrity for the next 5-6 years.
