rachunter
What kind of radish is this? I only know the red round ones in Salads. These where in a bag of throw and grow the deer and bear love them. I’d like to plant them next year without the grass that’s in the throw and grow.

philoshop
Animals love 'em, and humans too. Don't shoot the humans. 1
corydd7
My first year planting as well. I have radishes at least 18 inches. Tops are gone but my question is when does the radish itself become palatable? Turnips seem to be rotten, I would assume they won't be appealing. stubborn1VT
I don't believe there is a set time that deer like them best. Sometimes they chew on mine in November. Sometimes they wait until March. It sounds like your turnips got really WET. I don't imagine the deer will like them. Maybe if they were hungry enough. LET EM GROW
Daikon Radish. I use them in my bulb mixes every year. They will rot before your turnips will. Turnip is a bit more hardy. My deer have been eating them for a couple weeks now. But the bulb is perfect for cold weather foods
Gizmo285
Here are a few pics from my plot. Are the red ones beets? It was whitetail institute beets and greens.
TreeGuy
Yes. Beets. Typically they forage on the leaves this time of year then after a freeze they start digging up the beetsSent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
Gizmo285
They were pounding this plot when the green stems shot up but now they seemed to lose interest. Had up to 11 at a time in there. Hope they return.

Robhuntandfish
I once put in radishes and some leafy greens and had 200 pictures of Bionic in my food plot. Even electric fencing it off wouldnt keep him out of there.

landtracdeerhunter
The Red Purple one has more of a radish leaf on it. Wonder if the white radish could mix with the turnip to produce that color? They also make a great spicy cold slaw.
