Uggg...let me work on a few moves. Best I could do is about a 6:00 arrival...not sure I can pull this off

I had every intention of getting to the BK Thursday and ended up crushed

Agree - it’s the 2 hours after getting off the water at 10 that really sucks. I’m getting OLD! Used to do that a few times a week when I was younger and childless when the hatches were right

Yea it can for sure get pretty brutal. I’m usually pretty shot by the time I get off the water.

Well, my son made top ten in the derby. I couldn't be prouder! He was ecstatic to get his hands on the "youngest entrant" trophy and a 10th place spot that got him a rod/reel combo and a nice certificate.

So got out on the lake and it was perfect.  Cloudy nice little chop. Dropped lines down and we both had a walleye hit in first 5 minutes but lost them both.  Then in 10 minutes the wind came up, it started to rain and heard thunder. We go back to launch and storm passed but wind didn't. So we fished canal. I got a limit. Buddy had two shorts he had to release and lost a good one at the boat.  He also got two bass and a pickerel.

But tough start ended up being s good day.  Stickbaits in the canal is a fun way to catch them..

My wife and I spent a couple hours out on the Upper Niagara this morning.  She has not bought her licence in a few years, but since it was "free weekend", I took her out today, after the neighbor kid cancelled (he planned a late night at his cousin's bachelor party).   The wind was contrary (directly in opposition to the river current thru most of the stretches that I like to drift), but we found a stretch with enough current and just enough wind-block, to move the boat.      She caught the first smallmouth (a 16 incher) in 20 ft of water on a 5/16 oz bucktail jig.   I ended up getting three more including this 20 incher, that took a 1/4 oz jig in about 15 ft depth, plus a 13" and a 15" in 25 - 30 ft depths on the same jig.    These bass were not quite as chunky as those we caught last Sunday, out in Lake Erie, and they all still had eggs in them (those caught last week had no eggs in them).

I'm headed out shortly to Dunkirk for a couple of days of walleye fishing with my old fishing buddy Howie...

We plan to fish this afternoon, tomorrow, and Wednesday morning and return home Wed afternoon...

Hopefully we'll get into some marble eyes...We are armed with the latest fishing info, courtesy of Treeguy...

How do you like running those tower type rod holders?? Getting back into the game this season and have seen a few guys with that style setup I believe for running online boards or dipseys.
