WNYBuckHunter
The leaves are starting to change? I started noticing it a little about a week or so ago. Some of the trees around here are getting pretty darn colorful. I have also noticed that a few farmers are already starting to harvest some corn, and the beans are yellowing in most places. Oh, and who noticed the great, new logo on the site? Looks nice John!
pawle76
You're lucky. Here near Charlotte the leaves go from green to brown. No cool fall colors like up north, sucks. Not to mention it's still too darn warm here. I have noticed like you though the farmers have started to cut the corn, but the soy beans are still green as a leprachaun's butt hole ! Lawdwaz
I noticed.......I've been sweeping up leaves from my Maple tree for a month due to some black tar spot disease that is making the leaves drop FAST! Other than that, I've seen your every day leaves dropping quite a bit also. The faster the better!

Doc
Very subtle changes have been happening for a few weeks, but now things are really starting to change. I always have very mixed feelings about this time of year. While there is no time of year that is better, I still have a lot of "summery" things that I want to do and continue doing. And also, fall is the gateway to unending winter (blizzards, icy roads, constant gray and wallowing around in slop and snow). But we do have all the hunting opportunities ready to open soon and I know those days of early bow season with the leaf color and sun .... it just doesn't get any better! And hey, who knows I might even get a deer while I am enjoying all that ..... lol.
Paula
I agree with you Doc, can't wait for hunting to start, but then that means no more motorcycle riding till next yr
Fantail
If I pay to much attention to the change I start loosing sleep thinking about all the jazz to do comming up!
WNYBuckHunter
Agreed Doc, I love this time of year but hate knowing that the drudgery of dealing with snow is right around the corner.
ELMER J. FUDD
Heck, I'm sipping a Green Mountain Pumpkin Spice coffee right now... I like the mountains in the logo, the antlers, but I don't know about the round head, kind of reminds me of Mickey Mouse.
Jennifer
Here's a neat site that gives a visual representation of where and when the leaves are changing in NYS. http://www.iloveny.com/What-To-Do/Reasons-To-Love-NY/Fall-Foliage-Report.aspx

sweet old bill
Leaves are turning as we had light frost two days last week on the house. I can see they are more brown this year and some have the leaves just about off due to the rain and wind. I also am starting to see some scrapes on the edge of the pasture. cbx46
Watched some deer last night around the block from my home here on L.I. 4 does, and a bachelor group I've seen all sumer 4,6,and an 8 the giant 10+ wasn't there. The bucks were still traveling in a group but when I pulled up the 2 younger were sparring with each other! I have a feeling that friendship will be ending soon. Very exciting.
