My one year old daughter is sick right now, puking occasionally, puny, and has been having on and off fever. We're trying to work with the phone nurse so we don't have to take her anywhere, but obviously the first thing to come to mind is Covid. I seriously hope that is not the case, it's pretty scary right now.

I wish you all the best and certainly hope it isn't

Awfully big assumptions there.......Ironman.

I don’t think so. I also flew to and from DC, rode metro north every single day, and worked In same building as over 20 people who tested POSITIVE. Odds are I came in contact with it months ago

Biz, if this is true, you need to donate a little blood for antibody production for your forum friends! How much can you drain before you get woozy?

Not true. Could be a lot worse. My 401K which I don’t touch and is very aggressive is down 3-4% the past 3 months only. Yes, -3% is way worse than +20% but still Could be way way worse.

Like mine down 19% YTD not worried. I'll get it all back by years end. So again not worried

I had chicken pox as a kid. A stomach virus in 2nd grade. Other than that, I have not been sick aside from Hangovers and occasional sinus infection (deviated septum). In middle school and high school my parents would let me use my “sick days” to hunt or fish or go to a baseball game.

So the other day there were people saying that they would be upset if down state patients were treated for covid in upstate hospitals.

I have a response to that. When your loved one gets cancer and wants to be seen by the specialist at sloan Kettering too bad...... stay in upstate NY.

Or when they want that life flight to Westchester med from their bad car accident too bad.

I'm OK with moving patients to other hospitals if they are equipped to handle them...

But your comparison only works if cancer and car accident injuries were also highly contagious.

Not really. It’s the point that’s what’s good for the goose. Not to mention that the biggest opponent of this, at least on this site is a civil servant who makes his living because of people from
The Ny metro area....... just saying

Gotcha... so the debate is apparently less about bringing sick to healthy areas, but more about upstate vs. downstate.  Almost belongs in a different thread.

Not at all it was about people’s lack of understanding that we are all in this together and there is no upstate or downstate.... it’s that we are all screwed and should act like one community

I agree... we are in this together, and we are far from rock bottom.  (Despite my hopes that Biz and Trump are correct about Easter)

When a bad car accident or cancer can be transferred from touching a door handle I’ll rethink my original point, until then I stand by my opinion.

My 86 year old mother tested positive for the virus. She was sick the last few weeks. Went from assisted living to the hospital. She is a cancer patient also. So with that said she is getting better each day. She has 10 more days of isolation until she can come home. They gave her Tylenol not advil for the fever. She is tough and we are so lucky!
