All quiet, until I just called in a hen...she walked in clucking and walked right up to behind the tree i was sitting against...then stepped out to the right of my tree about 5 yards away...saw me, knew something wasn't right, and quickly walked away. Wasn't too spooked, never putted or ran off, just walked away....pretty cool, love those close encounters. Now if a gobbler would play the game

Only sat until 8 but we had birds within 60yrds a couple time going nuts.   Did some scouting and I think I figured out how they have been getting around me.  Maybe get out tomorrow.

Had a good morning.  Hen scared the crap out of me from 20 feet, had a chance at a pair of dumb 2 year olds but I tried moving on em and got caught with no deeks out.  Put, put, skedaddle.

Oh and a big ahole of a bird was strutting 100 yards from my last setup between me and the truck so I had to walk way around.

Well I’m still stuck in Florida. Should get the go ahead from the doctor to leave in a week or so. Might make the last weekend.

But nephew #2 scored this morning. Same area Roxbury Township 4P. This time private land.

37 yard shot with the 870 I gave him. Old school Remington #6 3 1-2” Nitro’s. 
 

So proud of these kids driving 4 hours from Long Island keeping up the traditions of the family. Hunting and fishing. True outdoorsmen.

I was doing some work on the property this afternoon...A turkey gobbled at 2:30 PM up in the field where Mort and I spent the morning and heard nothing...<<sigh>>…….
