Paula
Have you grilled something that seems odd but turned out better than you thought it would?
wolc123
Yes, One time I cut a good sized lake Ontario steelhead into steaks and placed them on fresh sweetcorn that was cut from the cobs, and wrapped it all in tin-foil and put it on the grill. Everyone who ate that fish loved it. Normally, I use a layer of onions, and a layer of sliced potatoes under the fish in the tin-foil, but we did not have any onions or taters at the time and the garden was loaded with fresh sweetcorn. I have tried it with corn from the freezer one time after than and it was not nearly as good.

SpacemanSpiff
It sure is. I plopped a pound down opposite to hot coals on the charcoal kettle and my life was never the same afterwards.
Bolt action
A few years back i dusted a whole skinned pineapple with cinnamon and sugar, through it on a spit and rotisseried it over coals. A little messy, but worth the mess. 1

SpacemanSpiff
It needs to be opposite of the heat on the cool zone side of the grill. Charcoal grills work better than gas but either will work. I put a drip tray under the bacon to save the mass.

grampy
Some years ago, someone showed up with some raccoon back straps. I seem to remember them being pretty darn good? But that night got a bit foggy.
