now that we have hundreds of thousands of hunters walking around NY states woods how many of you have shot or seen these wild boar their talking about?

I'd love some fresh pork. but it is known be careful what you wish for. Feral pigs are devastating to the environment, which is then detrimental to the deer and turkey

I have heard of them being seen around,,I wonder if I can make a tv show about hunting them like everyone else lol!!

During the second half of archery season, a 200+ pounder was shot in Marion, NY. 35 minutes east of Rochester, not far from me.

You know, it does make you wonder. Articles in newspapers have been written recently about wild boars in NY, DEC statements to shoot on sight, etc..., but other than the "one" killed in Marion, I haven't heard of any others being taken in NY. You would certainly think with the amount of hunters out during gun season, that at least a few would be taken.?

One of our neighbors in Westkill told me he heard of a hog taken in the Liberty area. Not sure how true it was but that was the word last week.

I hunt in Sullivan County and there is no mention of hogs by a couple of people that live there year round.

I just got word from my neighbor of where my hunting camp is that a wild hog was shot down the road. This is in 4A sloansville ny. He said he has pictures so I will post them as soon as I get them.

I havent heard any yet this year other than the one in Marion. There have been a couple of guys post on here about them last year though, and there were articles in the newspapers and internet about guys shooting them last year. Im sure the stories will start popping up.

There was one taken with a bow in East Arcade, first week of bow season. The skull is in my beetle box right now

A local farmer shot a 400 lb boar 2 weeks ago and said he missed the bigger one as it ran back into his woods.They were out feeding in a freshly chopped corn field.

Any news on these boars this year? I saw a news story about a loose pig on the northway (87-n) by Malta a week ago but they didn't say if it was a wild pig or a farm pig.
