  1. I was not a Thump supporter but the more I see who is against him, it makes me think. Seems like Trump and I are on the same side a lot lately.

  4. Joyful about the event. The US flag is lying on the ground. A big smile from the guy with his foot on the flag, even if it wasn't directly intentional. Stomping or not, it's definitely disrespectful. How do you see it?

  6. The FACT is the flag is on the ground and non there have the respect to pick it up. Its not toilet paper people, its the American Flag men and women died defending it. Its sick how people defend actions of others because its not that bad, its wrong.

  7. People like to call Trump Hitler. But these anti Trump "protestors" are doing exactly what the Nazis did. Using violence to quiet opposition. They're just too stupid to realize the hypocrisy.

  10. Seneca Lake is 200 yards to the east of my shack house. I don't really have much of a lake view, but between the sunrise and the look of the lake I can get a good idea of what the weather is going to be like that day. Beats looking at the internet.

  14. Using one's fundamental right to free speech, as protected by the 1st Amendment, is honorable. Using that right for the sole purpose of preventing another citizen from exercising that same right is supposed to be a crime. Look very closely at the organization of last night's activities. It's going to be a long summer.

  17. Weather was nice, though not so good for hunting. I did my first coyote hunting, didn't see anything but had a great time. Zero snow geese, but had a great time. Saw a beaver, a bunch of deer, and had five gobblers gobbling at me this morning. Been a very long time since turkey been on my land. Excellent day though the hunting itself yielded nothing.

  18. I have no idea where this came from. During a robbery in Guangzhou, China, the bank robber shouted to everyone in the bank: "Don't move. The money belongs to the State. Your life belongs to you." Everyone in the bank laid down quietly. This is called "Mind Changing Concept” Changing the conventional way of thinking. When a lady lay on the table provocatively, the robber shouted at her: "Please be civilized! This is a robbery and not a rape!" This is called "Being Professional” Focus only on what you are trained to do! When the bank robbers returned home, the younger robber (MBA-trained) told the older robber (who has only completed Year 6 in primary school): "Big brother, let's count how much we got." The older robber rebutted and said: "You are very stupid. There is so much money it will take us a long time to count. Tonight, the TV news will tell us how much we robbed from the bank!" This is called "Experience.” Nowadays, experience is more important than paper qualifications! After the robbers had left, the bank manager told the bank supervisor to call the police quickly. But the supervisor said to him: "Wait! Let us take out $10 million from the bank for ourselves and add it to the $70 million that we have previously embezzled from the bank”. This is called "Swim with the tide.” Converting an unfavorable situation to your advantage! The supervisor says: "It will be good if there is a robbery every month." This is called "Killing Boredom.” Personal Happiness is more important than your job. The next day, the TV news reported that $100 million was taken from the bank. The robbers counted and counted and counted, but they could only count $20 million. The robbers were very angry and complained: "We risked our lives and only took $20 million. The bank manager took $80 million with a snap of his fingers. It looks like it is better to be educated than to be a thief!" This is called "Knowledge is worth as much as gold!" The bank manager was smiling and happy because his losses in the share market are now covered by this robbery. This is called "Seizing the opportunity.” Daring to take risks! So who are the real robbers here?

  23. Today's DIY project. Notice the period appropriate flathead screws. I'd call this a 3/10 degree of difficulty, and give yourself about four minutes to do it properly. Tools needed: pencil, small level, awl, flathead screwdriver.

  33. I grew up with a lake within a short bike ride. Got hunting property by a lake. Tow the bass boat to many different lakes. Kissed my wife for the very first time by a lake. Some of my ashes will be scattered in a lake. Guess you could say, lakes have been and always will be, a part of who I am.

  35. Ours ran great today, made up for warm temps this week in one day. Cooked down at 26-1 today. I have about 35 gallons to boil tomorrow which is a good amount for me. I am super happy that the sugar content went way up from the first cook down which was 67-1.

  44. I would suggest Hessney Auction (located in Geneva NY) also. They will either purchase your guns outright or sell at their auction. I've sold a few guns at their auction. Usually have a check in hand a within week after the auction. I've been satisfied with the amounts that I've gotten from the guns that I've sold through them. They have another gun auction coming up on April 23rd, but if you the cash sooner, they will buy outright. http://hessney.com/auctions/?az_feed_pos=www.auctionzip.com%2Fcgi-bin%2Fauctionview.cgi%3Flid%3D2657000%26feed%3D129%26group%3D0%26state%3D%26kwd%3D%26zip%3D%26category%3D0%26nojava%3D0

  45. I've been tapped since 1/31. My peak production was Monday 3-6 at 47 gallons. I had some trees not run this last go around , most likely due to bacteria in the tap hole and budding. I try to keep my sap on ice until boil, but as long as it's 38 F. or below, you're alright. We had a good freezing night last, so hopeful it will run today with highs near 60. The tree buds swell, sap may continue to run, but be cloudy. Lower quality syrup. Oh, and that 47 gallons only amounted to 1 gallon of syrup. Sugar content came up some, from 57 gallon in early Feburary.

  46. There is something relaxing and peaceful about any body of water. Ocean, lake, river or anything like that has a calming effect. And then there is lure of the unseen. Those giant scaley creatures under water that have always been something that any fisherman thinks about when sees water. For me, there is also a childhood memory comes to mind when I see lakes, of haying season, and how Dad would take us all over for a hot fudge sundae and then a swim at Sandy Bottom on Honeoye Lake when we finally had the hay all in. Great way to get loose of all that chaff that went down the back.

  47. Right now, with only one antler on the year, the future of my lamp building endeavor isn't looking so bright. I need to get out and start picking up a few more "things" in the next month or two to "shed some light" on why it's been such a despicable season so far! Perhaps they know what I have planned for them, lol
