  1. Trying to do a little last minute doe patrol and this guy walks around like hunting season is not even a thing. He has offered his shoulder a few times this year but another year hopefully puts him at the next level.

  5. Saw in the latest issue of NY Outdoor News, three hunters in Michigan keeled over with heart attacks dragging out their Deer this fall and there will probably be many more throughout the country. A reminder to stay in the best physical shape you can. Al

  6. I slept in too cold for me but my brother wanted the trifecta! He got an 8pt at bow, spike and doe at gun now wanted one at Muzzy season. Well he went out this morning at dark sat in his favorite spot. Said he blew out a lot of deer going in. Along came a single doe and shot it at 50 yards with Muzzle loader. Double lung shot deer went 70 yards! Left little to no blood. I was amazed cause we have snow. I went down with the quad to get him and we retraced the track job. I just couldn't believe it didn't leave better sign. I'm happy for him.

  8. 25 degrees and wind gusts to 20 mph. I decided to go to my new stand and sit the last hour or so today. What happened was picture perfect. Doe and two fawns come in from bedding area walk a smal ridge to my left and come right to food plot. I actually thought it was the triplets minus the Mom. It wasn't it was a 1.5 year old Doe with two fawns, one was a button buck. At the end of the video I say I think that is the Mom up front. We shot 9 deer so far this season split between 4 families. I'll be hard pressed to pull the trigger unless its a ginat buck or one of those weird rack bucks we have running around. Just nice being out there late season and see a few come in.

  9. Yeah, now that all is well in the world with the Donald back at the helm, politics has taken a back seat in the world of conversation. Too bad, it has been an exciting time in politics with old sleepy Joe stumbling around and crazy, giggling Kamala campaigning like a blithering idiot. Oh well, now we can see how a real President functions. I like the start to Trump's term even though he is not even sworn in yet.

  10. Don’t worry! Don’t believe your lying eyes! There are no drones flying around! You can trust we will tell you the truth! It’s just another conspiracy theory, just like the balloon story! Just like the Covid virus story! Wake up people!

  12. Gearing up for the last sit here in northern NY. It's not been a very productive season venison wise but still had a blast and have Alot of great memories. I'm hoping to make a little trip for the holiday hunt. Good luck to everyone going out. Sent from my moto g power (2022) using Tapatalk

  16. Might hunt a day or two in holiday hunt, other than that it’s been a great season. My son got 4, I got 5, between 2 states. Pa was rough, it’s still snow covered there and all the deer were hanging on neighbors with green patches that melted but we didn’t have any spots like those.

  18. I kicked out a spot beside a scrubby little bush/tree. It seems to have turned into a funnel of cover they keep using between two of my fields. The wind is not in my favor but it’s too late for me to be moving now. I should at least see deer. I think!! Lol Good luck to who ever is out there this evening.

  19. I’ve been up since 4:30AM listening to the boiler run. Ten degrees outside. I suspect the deer are curled up in balls with their noses tucked in, conserving energy. I’ll approach the cut over corn fields this afternoon from the cornfield side, and try to catch them coming out of the woods.

  20. A deer convention this afternoon. Shortly after taking the picture, a buck came in and broke it up.

  21. Plenty of deer action here yet. Thursday afternoon, With the moon showing during day light, coupled with the winds subsiding, the food sources, deer started showing about 4:15. Had 2 six points sparing for a few minutes (one pictured). Posted a pic of same deer earlier in this thread. Mature doe are hanging back in the cover; the young's ones sure are surfacing; eating machines. Lost the chance at one mature buck here, lost his antlers. Hope to find his sheds. Some of the best hunting is sure to be had.

  22. A major victory, yes, but not the time to rest on ones laurels! Fatigue makes cowards of us all, rest up and get back in the fight, the figurative prince of darkness requires a stake in the heart!

  24. This year has being fill with ups and downs in the deer woods. I fill one tag during rifle season and tonight I was able to harvest young buck. Meat in the freezer is why I hunt. Congratulations to all who punched a tag during the 2024 deer season.
