    Trail cams are just another level of fun for me. They never dictate where or when i hunt. I just like to see the wildlife. Now the Wind, that tells me where im setting up that day.

    So sorry to hear that. I lost one of mine back in august. After three long rough days he passed on his own. I was dreading to make that call, that must have been brutal. Some say my wife and I treat our pups like humans…oh well their time with us is so short.

    Usually go in dark however i used a red head lamp occasionally last fall and liked it.

    These 223 Remington rounds were designed with deer in mind. I killed a 130 pound doe last year. 80 yard neck shot and it was all over. Send one into that white throat patch and it’s quite effective. No broken ribs to poke you while gutting!

    I wouldn’t hesitate to use that load on deer.

    I buy whole pork butts from the grocery store and cut pieces myself. I mix in a little bacon as well on occasion.

    All this .22s only for varmints is hogwash. Take that from a varmint shooter that kills plenty of them. Deer are thin skinned and a 22 going over 3k foot a second kills them dead. Deer are killed with bow and arrow!!! Go hunt and have fun. Use a soft point bullet and have at it. Im willing to bet 90% of the naysayers here have never killed a big game animal with one.

    I love seeing the seasons change this time of year. Cant wait for that first time out! Few early ground scrapes showing up. Usually middle of October in the areas im seeing them now.

    I love shooting my revolvers as I have many. However, I only have an optic on one of them and thats a reflex sight. I thought a long barreled .22 mag revolver with a scope would be a lot of fun for those “think i can hit that” scenarios. I have a few shooting sticks i can play with thanks for the tip. Oh, because everyone likes gun porn….Smith and Wesson 617 .22lr. Nikon spur reflex sight on top.

    Im currently shopping for a smith and wesson 648 to mount a Leupold scope on. How easy is your scoped ruger to shoot off hand?
