Glad you had a good time! Invest in a waterproof shell. It will make hunting much more fun if you are dry and warm. I use a packable top and bottom and they are great for an extra layer when it gets cold or windy. Good luck, have fun and be careful.

The tacks for going in at night are great and unobtrusive. I removed a back pack full of new orange tape going across my buddies property years ago. I understand using flags but a compass and map are much better for navigation and force you to recognize terrain better resulting in better navigation skills. GPS adds to your accuracy. I do think it litters the woods and if at deer level it can alert them. If its a one time use and removed I see no harm.

Guess we should stop buying preorbital, tarsal, doe and buck urine scents. Some of the comments are pathetic in their argument and childish. While I do not like high fence hunts, deer farms get a bad rap IMO. And CDW is overblown. But lets just keep bashing the farmer who is actually out hunting right now! Arg.

Lucky for me they are both adults and are smart enough to know what is right and wrong. Now I just need to get Hector into a deer!

Both of these hunters are relatively new to hunting and are trying to help with population control at the same time. Size is irrelevant. But I guess I should scold them and tell them they suck! Right, WHAT are you doing shooting that? Perfect encouragement. LOL They are meat eating population control hunters. I salute the effort they put into shooting and congratulate their success and hope they continue. You apparently have no clue about hunting on LI and the population issues and snipers they want to enlist to cull the population Huntings In My DNA. I am a trophy hunter but I don't look down upon any hunter, we all hunt regardless of how or why, you should be a little more tolerant of others and enjoy in their success regardless if its a doe, spike or monster buck we all get the rush!

Not much else to add but I will say it is the best time of the year, IMHO.

I joined but not really to win anything, seemed a little off when they could not produce a card for the picture contest. Just getting a deer is prize enough for me.
